@Shanus I'm editing this to let you know that I do think some of Trinity11's posts were misunderstood. There was a lot she said that was in agreement with you. I think maybe we all gave too much time to someone who is truely out to make you look bad and willing to keep it going forever. If I have learned anything....it's not to give so much "air time" to those who are out to make mountains out of molehills in order to make someone else look bad. Believe me when I say, it is so obvious........ the person who started all this was NOT you and NOT Trinity 11. I will drop it now....enough said by me.

I gave up chasing the holy grail of anti aging...."against aging" I'm happy that I've made it to this age. I think it's interesting that the Q hosts gush about how certain products are 'so good'. (Yes, it's their job....) However they are aging like the rest of us. They don't look 'good for their age or decades younger' they look good. I'm all about being healthy and looking pretty for me. Some days pretty is a full face of makeup and curly hair...some days not.

Thank you @jubilant . I was hurt by the accusation but realized I have no control how anything I post here is interpreted.
Have a healthy and Happy Thanksgiving. I know we both have to eat "heart healthy" but hoping it's still a great day!

Just jumping in to say I think genetics have the biggest impact on how we age. I also believe lifestyle plays a part.
IMO Generalities in skincare just don’t work. For example, most people say you need Retin A & Vitamin C products for better looking skin. The Retin A prescription I used for a few years did nothing for my skin so I stopped using it. The expense wasn’t worth it. I can’t use Vitamin C products because they cause a rash. Not everyone’s skin is going to respond the same way to every product. I believe gentle cleansing, exfoliating, moisturizing, and using SPF are the basics.
I’ve always had lots of medical issues & skin issues. I know certain health issues & medicines can affect your skin. Despite trying numerous dermatology prescriptions & recommended products over the years, my skin will never be exactly the way I wish it would be. I guess that’s why I sometimes take offense at people saying things like “if you only did this” your skin would look better.

@Trinity11 @jubilant Lots of confusion and unfounded accusations in recent posts on this thread. All good and no worries. It gets difficult when too many people "pile on" one post that begins on a negative note. Thanks for clarifying.
Happy Holidays to both of you and your families.

@wilma Skincare is kind of like shoes...one size doesn't fit all. When asked or I give recommendations, it's difficult since I can only go by info I'm given...can't actually see the person. Always do what's best for your skin type, past history with products, etc.
Happy Holidays.

Totally agree. I was not in any way criticizing you or your advice. Sorry if it appeared that way. I know you have experience in the field, & I enjoy reading your beauty posts.
My comment was just a more general frustration I have about some people’s perceptions. I had people tell me as a teen that if I washed my face or used a certain product I wouldn’t have acne. Suggestions are appreciated, but what bothers me is when others imply I’m not trying to take care of my skin when I am.

@wilma Oh, I didn't take it that way at all. I know skincare is frustrating and confusing with so many products and advice. That's why I said you need to do what's best for your skin.
