L'Oreal Excellence Age perfect hair color

has anyone used this coloring product?  It appears to address covering grey.  I have decided to cover y white hair and am on the fence about going to a salon or to save alot of money and doing this myself.  Looking for input.

I used it for years....but it got to the point where it no longer covered my white grey.  So I let my hair grow out.  If you hardly have much grey, it will work,but if you are all white it will not work.

I've been using L'Oreal for many years - Preference or Excellence.  I'm blonde (probably dark blonde by now) and I have a good amount of white.  When I color lately, I use Preference 9N (natural blonde).  It either covers the gray or just makes it blend in because after I color I can't notice any white - til the roots start growing in.

@fritzee.  Yes, I use and love this product. I always used  L'Oreal Excellence but switched to this when it was recently introduced to the market.   I have some grey and white hair and it covers it well.  I really like the highlights, shine and dimension it gives me. There is  a smaller range of colors for Age Perfect.

Sorry... earlier I didn't see "Age Perfect" in your post.  Yes, I have used it and liked it very much.  It's a demi permanent color and it covered gray well for me.  Now I can't find it.  I called L'oreal and was told it was discontinued.  Smiley Sad

Re: L'Oreal Excellence Age perfect hair color

My Mom's been using the Natural Blonde and is almost all grey at this point and you can't tell from her hair.  She's had people ask who her colorist is!  I don't remember which side of the family grey comes from, but my Granddad was completely grey at 19 and both my Mom and I started greying at 17 or so (along with her 5 sisters, but I don't know what they use!).  I use L'Oreal's Preference in Medium Brown and have 60% grey and the rest is dark brown.  My Mom uses Preference too and has switched off over the last 30 years (not sure if both have been around during that time).

I tried using Natural Instincts in Auburn and my greys would be pink! That's when I realized I really needed to switch to a permanent instead of semi-permanent, but haven't gone back to Auburn yet, though my hair tends to pull red highlights (had them naturally but have no idea now).  Good luck!

@feline groovy

I originated what turned into a rather lengthy thread about a year ago about whether to color my white or not.  Some interesting discussion was had.  As it turned out, I decided rather quickly that I WAS going to color my hair.

Prior to growing my hair out I had had my hair done professionally for years and for other years had done it myself and always used L'Oreal.  I must confess ignorance regarding "Excellence Age Perfect Hair Color" when it comes to L'Oreal, though.  I just used the regular "one."  However, I went into a Sally Beauty store one day and noticed the "ION" line of permanent hair color.  I asked one of the gals there if ION would really cover my white hair without too much fade and she said "yes," without a doubt.  Additionally, there was a lady in the ION aisle who heard this conversation and she told me that her stylist told her that if she was going to do her own hair, she should go to Sally Beauty and purchase color base from the ION line, then the other stuff along with it.  I highly recommend purchasing a couple of the purple packets of super color setting cream (closes the cuticle), which makes a huge difference.  I LOVE ION color and would not go back to L'Oreal.  Just my opinion through great experience with a superior product.

All the best to you.
