I see HSN had this product for TS today.  Does not explain the Minoxil that is the ingredient that helps hair to grow.  Problem is you MUST use forever or hair will begin to fall out again.  This makes me leary about using such a chemical.  I take Tamoxifen which has cause my hair to thin but I would never use this product. Not sure what the side effects could do!  I will continue to use Chavez mesquite Shampoo and serum which has really helped the looks of my hair.

@bargainsgirl- I was wondering also about the Keranique, started to order it, but decided not to.  I have change my diet and hopefully that will help. Had my blood work done and it did not show any problem with my thyroid.

@bargainsgirl, They are never going to include in a sales pitch that you must continue to use the product forever in order to retain the results.  That doesn't sound as fascinating as playing up the immediate and short term results.  The hope is that if one achieves the desired hair regroeth of volume they would want to regularly use the product and would be willing to pay the regular prices for Keranique.

As for minoxil, I think anyone who is on prescribed medication should probably discuss this product with their doctor or a dermatologist before doing so.  I don't know whether or not that message is printed in fine print somewhere on the containers, but my hunch is that it is.

I know they don't discuss that or say your hair will fall out when you first using their product either. I won't use it because I don't want to use it for the rest of my life. Nor do I want to put chemicals on my scalp from now on.

My hair is thinning I guess do to age, menopause, being hypothyroid. One of the side effects from the medication is hair loss.

I started using rosemary oil with argan oil. Sometimes I add some tea tree oil or other oils that are good for the hair.

I read rosemary oil can make the hair grow just as much as the minoxidil. I would rather try it instead. Guess I will see 6 months down the road what happens.

I also heard that  Copper Peptide is one of the active components of Minoxidil... Isomers sells it in  liquid gel on EvineLive.

How do you use the Rosemary. Do you put it on the scalp at night and wash it out in the morning?

@Valstybaby I apply some argan oil first the some drops of the rosemary & massage in my scalp. I sleep with it or apply when I get up & leave in all day before washing.

I also found this info online that I want to try.

What you need

  • ½ cup distilled water
  • 1 tbsp witch hazel
  • 7 drops rosemary oil
  • 10 drops lavender oil
  • 3 drops thyme oil
  • 3 drops cedarwood oil
  • 4 oz amber glass spray bottle

Method

  1. Mix up the essential oils in the witch hazel until well combined.
  2. Now pour the distilled water into the spray bottle using a funnel.
  3. Add the essential oil witch hazel mixture to the spray bottle.
  4. Shake well to combine and your essential oil hair growth spray is ready!
  5. Store in a cool, dark and dry place.
  6. To use, spray onto your scalp as needed to boost hair growth.

Try this essential oil hair growth spray and come and share your results!

1. Rosemary Hot Oil Treatment: Treat yourself to a hot oil hair treatment, which enables the nutrients from the oils to penetrate deep into your scalp and stimulates hair growth. In a small pan, pour in 2 tsp of coconut oil and 2 tsp of castor oil. Carefully heat the pan on a low flame for 1 – 2 minutes. Make sure you don’t overheat the oils to smoking point! You only need a gentle heat. Take the pan off flame and add 4 -5 drops of rosemary essential oil and give it a quick stir with a spoon. Now using the tips of your fingers, massage this oil into your scalp while it is still hot enough to handle. Enjoy this hot oil massage and think positive thoughts about your hair as you do so. Allow the oil to rest on your hair for at least 15 mins before you wash off. Try this once a week or once every 3 days.

2. Rosemary Hair Growth Serum:
In 50 ml of sweet almond oil mix 8 drops of rosemary essential oil, 6 drops of lavender essential oil and 3 drops of clary sage essential oil. Apply this serum to your scalp and along your hair shafts. Brush through your hair to distribute the serum evenly. You can use this serum every 1 – 2 days, after showering. Not only will this help with hair growth, but will also leave you smelling like a garden from paradise!

3. Rosemary Hair Mask for Super Growth: This is a weekly treatment recipe that I adore! Simply get a mixing bowl and break one whole egg into it. Add 1 tsp of organic honey, 1 tsp of coconut oil and 6 drops of rosemary essential oil. Whisk this until it reaches a smooth consistency and apply onto your hair for 30 – 60 minutes. Wash off with lukewarm water and dry your hair without using heat.

4. Rosemary Hair Massage Oil: For this, grab a partner and take turns massaging each others scalps with a combination of 5 ml of jojoba oil and 8 drops of rosemary essential oils. Use your finger tips and systematically work through all areas of the scalp starting from the front, to the sides and finally to the back. Use circular motions and a firm pressure to stimulate blood circulation.

5. Rosemary Essential Oil Overnight Treatment: Mix 2 tbsp of organic coconut oil with 1 tsp of raw honey and 3 drops of rosemary essential oil. Make sure everything is mixed thoroughly and apply this onto your scalp, hair shafts and tips of your hair. Tie your hair into a bun and wrap securely with a shower cap. Place an old towel onto your pillow for extra protection and sleep peacefully which the hair loss-preventing coconut oil, nourishing and hydrating honey and hair growth inducing rosemary oil work their magic overnight. Wash off in the morning and behold your glossy, nourished hair!

6. Hair Growth Oil with Rosemary: An extremely simple hair growth oil that you can use every day – mix 1 cup of pure organic coconut oil with 20 drops of rosemary essential oil for faster hair growth, less breakage and stronger hair, thanks to the amazing properties of coconut oil!

yes, I'm surprised they're not talking much about the minoxidil - you do have to keep using it, and you should get Dr permission if you have blood pressure problems. Pretty misleading IMO. If you wanted to try minoxidil, you can just buy that separately, and it's cheaper than the keranique version. FYI, isomers the copper p ingredients are in nioxin's treatment spray.
