The TSV sounds great, but I will assume that QVC will only offer one of the dark shades and undoubtedly it will probably not be the one I need (Fearless).  Knowing Q, they'll offer the Tan shade (Jubilant), and leap up the color range to only one of the darker shades.  They'll do that insulting sales pitch of saying that this one shade is for (all) women of color.  Of course I know that I can buy my color elsewhere, and for the record elsewhere is where I buy my foundation.  However, doing that does not prevent me from being offended at the way foundation is generally offered to women of color by QVC -- even if the brand has several dark shades they could present.

I agree with you. Shades at QVC are too limited and it's even worse on the darker side of the spectrum. Josie Maran makes 14 Vibrancy shades, QVC only carries 12 and will only offer 6 of those in the TSV. I'm on the fair side of the spectrum and it's rare that I can find a TSV to match me, so I usually don't order them. QVC leaves many women out.

@Trix, fyi, the tan shade in the TSV is Fearless which I hope works for me.  However I do agree with your post regarding the limited color choices.

I received a sample.  I wasn't wowed.  There's no SPF.  It is a bit oily, and the shades run VERY LIGHT!!  Beware of that if you order TSV.  I'm sure the Sephora shades are more inclusive and the color wording may be different.

This is why there are so many products on the market and thank God for that:

* I don't want SPF in my foundation

* My dry skin didn't find it oily

* My pale skin found the lightest shade too DARK. It also turned orange after 10 minutes (over Josie Maran products, btw).

Just goes to show that everyone is different. Smiley Very Happy

LOL

Yes, we are all different.  I rarely buy foundation wtihout SPF.  I found it very oily.  I'm fair, and the shades are very light.

Re: Josie Maran Vibrancy foundation

I purchase  a lot from QVC but I agree that there is never enough presenations for women of color.   More time should be spent on darker shades and not at the tail end ot the presentations and it is rushed through.  I too am often affended by this.

Re: Josie Maran Vibrancy foundation

I actually received a sample yesterday. A little goes a long way. I found it to be full coverage, depending on how much you apply. I am in my 60's and it did not settle in my lines and wrinkles and it absolutely gives your skin a wonderful glow. Not shiny or greasy looking but that wonderful glow you see on the movie stars but I haven't been able to achieve until I tried this. Just gives you a fresh, glowing, more youthful look. I love it. The shade I received was to light. I find her shades run on the lighter side. I will be purchasing the TSV but have to figure out which color. It will either be the darker medium shade or tan, if the tan is not to dark. I received the lighter medium and it was way to light for my skin tone. I am a true medium in Laura G. Makeup.

Re: Josie Maran Vibrancy foundation

Just checked out the product page. It shows this for the foundation. If I want to try it I would have to go medium if it runs light since I have red undertones.

Argan Vibrancy Foundation Fluid Shades

Dynamic: the fairest of the fair; for porcelain skin with neutral undertones.
Mystical: for light skin with neutral undertones.
Electric: for light-medium skin with golden yellow undertones.
Juicy: for medium skin with neutral/neutral red undertones.
Fearless: for tan skin with neutral/neutral yellow undertones.
Magical: for rich deep skin with neutral/neutral red undertones.

Don't forget, they will also talk about how forgiving the shades are, so don't get hung up trying to pick the right shade.  You can't make a mistake with this!

Fearless is the shade I matched up to when I sampled the foundation at Sephora, so I'll be getting my correct shade with the TSV.
