Josie Maran Light Argan Oil Vs Regular Argan Oil

Would love some feed back from JM products users. I have used JM Aragn Oil for a while and love it. Recently I bought her 3 piece kit that contains 4 oz Sunscreen (in love with that), 4 oz LIGHT Aragn Oil and a color stick. The light oil seems to smell very different than the regular. It almost has a slight rancid smell to it. I have read some reviews and there are a few that mention this smell but, most don't mention it. The odor dissipates fairly quickly after applying it. Has anyone used the Light Oil and if so what are your thoughts on it? TIA

I have both. Neither of mine has a smell, but I did contact them about my Argan Milk looking off & they said it was just different batches of oil. The Light almost has an oilier feel than the regular, but they sink in & seem to work the same.

I have both and I bought that kit with the 4oz light and SPF moisturizer too. I haven't noticed any difference in scent.

I have that 3 piece kit you're talking about, and the Argan Oil Light has a slightly sweet smell. I think Josie said once that it has a slight Apricot scent. I think it smells yummy! Are you sure that's not what you're smelling? If you think it smells rancid, let QVC CS know and I'm sure they'll replace it for you.

Re: Josie Maran Light Argan Oil Vs Regular Argan Oil

I'm a longtime user of the Argan oil and just opened my bottle of the "light" version. I was surprised, to me if actually felt heavier and didn't absorb as fast as the original. I tend to be heavy handed with it so I tried again that evening using less. Still I found it not as absorbent. It wouldn't deter me from using it.

I prefer the Regular although there is not much difference. i guess that is why I stick with the original

Thank you all for your replies.

ginabfly, I'm not getting Apricot. I just rubbed some on my arm to see if I could smell anything like that but, I have such a cold I couldn't smell anything. I am going to call JM customer service tomorrow and ask them about it.

I really like both, I actually prefer Light, but still use regular usually at night in case it has more benefits, even though they're supposed to work the same.

I don't find Light to be heavier at all, but I have no problem with either of them soaking in, and I easily use 4+ drops at a time.

lol Well if you have a cold, maybe that's throwing off your senses and you're not able to smell the actual scent?

That could be. I bought this kit about a month or so ago and have been using it even though its smells a little odd. When you mentioned Apricot I thought I would go try some but, couldn't smell anything. I will have to try it when this cold clears up. Love all of JM products that I have tried and want to be able to use the Light Oil because I love the way it performs.
