Jones Road - Face Powder - Anyone try?

There was a recent ad on-line about this powder and it has me intrigued.  Has anyone tried it?  It says it has no talc, so it doen't sink in fine lines.  It says it is a good finishing powder to just get rid of a bit of shine also.  I was looking for a light finishing powder that cuts shine but doesn't dry out skin since I'm older and wondered if this would be good.

Jones Road is a Bobbi Brown brand of makeup.   There are reviews on the net...

@AngelPuppy1   Sorry Bobbi, but there are better setting powders out there. Also the only place to purchase is online...shipping charges if order is not over $85. What?!?!

Soon after the line launched, I rec'd a PR box of products. Not sure the powder was part of the Jones Road yet.

I prefer, on my dry skin, a light dusting of Laura Mercier Blurring Powder. The biggest hint for a no powder look is application with large fluffy brush for full face or small eye sweep type brush to spot set areas under eyes , around nose, etc. If I powder all over, I use a setting spray before mascara to remove the powdered look. There are sprays w/o alcohol and are moisturizing.

@Shanus

I thought the ad that I saw listed it for like $28.  I must have read it wrong.  I would never pay that much for any makeup!

I use LG B&B most of the time.  But when I use a liquid foundation I need a powder that gets the shine of the foundation off and add a bit more ooomph!  I don't want anything heavy.  I also don't want anything that looks aging or settle in lines. I might take a look at the prduct you mentioned.  Thank you!

@AngelPuppy1  Hourglass veil mineral setting powder is also good. I use the mini size to set my under eye concealer. The powder is fine and silky, I think it would be good to set foundation, if that's what you need.

The mini size is $24 at Sephora which seems expensive, but it's lasting well over 6 months since you don't need to apply much.

I was reading about the Hour Glass after your reply and that looks good.  Thanks!

Hi @AngelPuppy1 !!!

I think as we get older, any powder is a big no no. I try to stick with only cream or liquid products.  Anything powdery is too dry and settles in the lines.

I have not tried Jones Road, although I am interested in it.  Bobbie Brown is well, Bobbie Brown. You know she knows what she is doing.  So I could be wrong about her powders.

have you tried any of the "finishing balms"?  Mally has one, Dr. Perricone, Morphe, too.  It's like a clear balm in a compact.  You use a sponge to press it into your skin to help set your make up and mattify your skin.

I have tried and like the Mally version.  I have not tried the Dr. Perricone or the Morphe, but I think they both have big followings.

Yes, I agree in that most powders don't seem to ber good for aging or mature skins.  I usually use LG B&B, but when I don't and want a liquid foundation, I like to finish it with a light dusting of powder to cut the shine a bit and also to set it and keep it from rubbing off.  This Bobbie Brown powder looked promising.  No, I have never heard of a finishing balm, but thank you for posting about it.  Sounds interesting!

Hi @AngelPuppy1

I use Laura Geller B&B, too.  Along with bare minerals.  I don't really count those as powders because they are kinda creamy.
