When it first came out it smelled horrible but I got some this spring and it was actually very pleasant smelling. I also love the tan you get from it. Not artificial looking at all. I got the fair to medium shade. In the spring, I mixed it with my moisturizer to make the tanning more gradual. Now I'm using it full strength.
Love it!
I just bought a sample tube. No they haven't changed the horrible smell. I can't wear perfume and it smells like strong florals.

I tried this and it was ok but streaky and I don't like all the chemicals in it. I now use
Beautisol which
is paraben free and it works awesome. You get a natural looking tan with no streaks and no
stink!!!

I also am very fair and don't normally tan at all, just burn. So, all my life, I have been pale, even in the summer. Another poster, on another web site, posted about the Jergens product and said it slowly adds a nice, natural tan to her daughter's fair skin. I have been wanting to try it, so I was really glad to see the OP thread about this. Thank you.

You're welcome. I rarely post because most of what I have to say is said better by someone else. But, I hadn't seen a post about this and decided to give my review. Hope you like it as much as I do.

So for three months out of the year I tan and worry about skin cancer. I try so hard every year to just do the self tanner but end up going to tan instead. I'm going to try this. My normal skin color is very white. And not an attractive white. Think uncooked chicken! But I do tan pretty descent. I just need to stop! Please don't tan!! I just had Melanoma for the 2nd time and this time it was St. 4 in my lung & brain. I would never want anyone to go through it or worse die from it. I've never been a "tanned", but did lots of water stuff, plus have a genetic factor. All it takes is one cell to mutate. White is beautiful!! Natural skin color is gorgeous!
I am so sorry about your Melanoma, I had 16 spots removed last year, thankful they all came back fine but I am only 42, my Dr. worries what the future holds since I tanned in my teens and 20's (indoor tanning) and I have always been moley - I have over 70++ moles and they say the more moles you have the higher your risk and top that with tanning....I'm scared to say the very least. My grandmother had lung cancer stage 4 as well
My very good friend just had a huge cancer tumor removed from her brain and is currently recovering from all the chemo and radiation, just horrible. God Bless you!!!
Sandgirl, thanks for the post. No need to be sorry as at this point I'm a 2-time survivor. Just to clarify, I had Melanoma in my lung & brain, not lung or brain cancer. My treatment was an immunotherapy so didn't lose hair & stuff traditionally occurring with chemo/radiation.
I'm thrilled you get checked, hopefully from a dermatologist. Keep up the great work and sunscreen every day - rain or shine, indoors or out!

Please I would like you to think that you may have just saved someone from skin cancer. I'm canceling my next appointment and buying some jergins when I get into town Saturday. I'm on vacation. Maine actually. Ocean is 55 degrees so no sun on this vacation! Funny. Or should I say sad thing is I know 100% that of I found out today that I had skin cancer I would stop now. Just stop and deal with my very white complexsion. How stupid is that? I'm going to buy jergins this weekend. Thank you and god bless. On 7/9/2014 spookyghost said: I bought it and then returned it before I used it. Dang. I'm so glad you posted because I'm very fair but I do tan. Yeah sociologist! I'm thrilled to hear you cancelled your next "tanning" appointment. Maybe they do spray tan, if you're not satisfied with the Jergens?
No need for sorrow as I've successfully completed my treatment and now spend my time ranting about the notion of everyone feeling the need to be tan.
I'm totally jealous of your Maine vacation. I grew up on Cape Cod, Mass and miss New England...especially the lobbies!!

F1wild, I have a significant family history of melanoma and have had to watch sun exposure all my life. My cousin in Ireland has had minimal sun exposure but is very very fair. She noticed a dark spot on her big toenail. After being sent to several different doctors in Ireland and then the UK she was diagnosed with a melanoma under her toenail. Apparently, in women the lower the lesion and the more dorsal (back) the more likely it is to be a melanoma. In men it is more likely to be a melanoma if it is on the back. I have had several moles removed from the soles of my feet and the back of my calf. One had "premelanomatous changes." I see a derm every year for a total body skin check.

I have to 100% agree.
I'm sort-of a lotion/skin care nerd (I've worked in the industry for quite some time) and unfortunately a lot of the big brand companies that are sold to drug stores/grocery stores/wal-marts all push "fads" while not really investing in great skincare.
I always look at ingredients when it comes to my skin and unfortunately Jergen's overall is a big no-no. Mineral oil!!!, corn starch, and parabens are all listed before the "good ingredients" (and god only knows how they source those out). There are plenty of good quality lotions at great prices, you just have to find them, but they are out there.
But pleaseeee, don't put anything with mineral oil on your skin. So bad!

I have used the Foam (a bit drying on my skin...) as well as the lotion, which was OK. But I found that Joan Rivers Magic self-tanning lotion (on the Bay) is much smoother and silkier to apply. Another good gradual-tanner is Tan Towel's "On the Glow" self-tanning lotion.A great Combo I use is---apply a Tan Towel all over...followed by the On the Glow lotion.
