If Josie Maran's Super Size Bottle of Argan Oil will have a shelf life of 2 years unopened (which is what she specifically said yesterday), will it last longer if refrigerated??  Would anyone know?  Or will it degrade in the Fridge?

TIA.... and I'll be back Woman LOL

@Q4u Yes, you can slow down oxidation by refrigerating.  I even freeze many of the oils I use to make lotion, etc.  You can also add a drop of Vit E and/or rosemary oleoresin to assist in delaying the oxidation.  A little more accurately, for Vit E you'd use about .5% and for rosemary oleoresin about .25 to .3%.  Oleoresin has a somewhat off putting odor so I'd stick with Vit E.

Re: JOSIE MARAN's ARGAN OIL... Quick Question...

Thank you to everyone for all the amazing information regarding this product.   First time I've used the oil and I did buy the gunga bottle!  I'll probably keep it stored in the fridge and am imagining it feeling wonderful cold. I also bought the gunga jar of whipped body butter (which I've used before) and I'm in love all over again.  (Lavender Citrus)....  and my skin IS doing better!

Thanks agan... Woman LOL

Re: JOSIE MARAN's ARGAN OIL... Quick Question...

I had a small bottle of JM argon oil go rancid on me - horrible smell. Ever since I buy from a different manufacturer who adds preservatives - and their's is way less expensive and (knocking on wood) it has not gone bad on me. I like Josie and her products but at those prices - going rancid is not an option. BTW - I had called QVC customer service and they would not accept it as a return because it was past the 30 days.

Re: JOSIE MARAN's ARGAN OIL... Quick Question...

There is no reason to buy Argan oil that contains preservatives. Really, that is sort of defeating the whole purpose of using something "natural."

I've never used JM's oil, but I have used Shea Terra Organics Argan oil, which is 100 percent certified organic and 100 percent unadulterated. It has a shelf life of two years. I had absolutely no freshness problems with it at all.

I got mine on ebay and they are sending out free replacements for the rancid ones. I agree too expensive for this stuff to have rancid batches!
