If Josie Maran's Super Size Bottle of Argan Oil will have a shelf life of 2 years unopened (which is what she specifically said yesterday), will it last longer if refrigerated?? Would anyone know? Or will it degrade in the Fridge?
TIA.... and I'll be back ![]()

I thought I heard one of the hosts say it would last 2 years sealed. I wouldn't buy that much argan oil. The regular 1.7 oz. bottle lasts pretty long. I wouldn't want to take a chance on it spoiling and having to throw out the entire bottle (over $100). It would take a couple of years to use up that big of a bottle. Just my opinion. Keeping it in the refrigerator may or may not help it last longer. . .

I wouldn't get the big one either. I've had problems with the smaller bottles getting rancid stored at room temp. I still love it.

I've had the supersize go rancid after opening, with about 1/3 of the bottle still left and I use it everyday.
I tried to salvage that 1/3 bottle by using it only on my feet, but I just couldn't take the smell!

Josie noted in one presentation that it would last two years even if opened. I did buy her large size and am hoping that it will survive until used up. Even if it doesn't, it's still a good value considering the size and price.

i am just finishing up the 4 oz and have had no problems with it at all. i don't use it everyday either. it doesn't go bad as fast as they say if you keep it in a cool dry place and i've had mine in the bathroom for the last 6 months or so. and that's not cool and dry!

I do know that your suppose to store essential oils in a cool, dark place. Some ppl even suggest putting them in the fridge. But as far as Josies stuff, I don't know. And keep out of direct sunlight.

I just received an unscented Argan Balm (Josie's) from ebay. OMG the smell is horrible, definitely not unscented. So bummed, do you think that means it went bad/rancid?

Ebay said it was a bad batch! Josie seems to be selling bad batches from what I've read on these forums. They are sending me a new one free of charge, no return!

Why assume it is a bad batch? It could have been hanging around for quite some time. Oils oxidize. They have a shelf life. Argan is 18 to 24 months from the time it is processed.
