It foundation question?

I was wondering if someone could answer a question for me. I got the foundation and brush, but the brush that comes with it seems to rub it into my pores, and they look bigger. The brush on it's own is very nice, but do you think i should order the big brush they have for better results or am I applying it wrong. I have watch the video, didn't help. I think my kids have sucked every bit if intelligence I have.

for beauty products - I am 54, blue eye's, very fair. Skin is normal, but prone to eczema patches.
