In the recent TSV by It Cosmetics, there was a mascara included.  It has a very strong odor to it.  Is it supposed to have that scent?

Mascara that has a "kerosene-type" odor is spoiled..........

Same with lipstick that smells like "crayons".

@Desertdi --- THANK YOU!!!  The mascara has a very strong menthol-like (?) scent.  But, other mascaras didn't have a scent at all (or just a very light scent), so I thought I'd ask.  Glad I did.  Thanks again for the help.

@Julie_23     I've gotten kits (not necessarily IT) where one of the items seems "off"........like  dried out.    I don't return it if it's only a single thing and the rest is OK.     Sometimes "things just happen".............

The smell of "crayons" is actually the smell of rancidity. If you get a lipstick that smells like that, it's gone off and the oils in the lipstick are rancid.

The mascara I received smelled like that too, but I don't think it was spoiled.......it just has a smell.  Personally, I didn't care for it anyway.  My best and favorite mascara remains the IT Hello Lashes.  It's the only one that doesn't take the curl out of my eyelashes (they are poker straight and I have to curl them).  I think it's because most of the other ones have water in them.

If you please I would return the product. Only a few things have an unplesant smell and one is Perricone but it does not bother me to smell the fishy smell but in lipsticks, glosses and mascara there should be not bad odor.  Sorry that happened to you.
