In every case I'm familiar with these types of sales have resulted in a decrease in quality over time.

I will be sorry to see IT change but in all likelihood it will.

I realize that many cosmetic companies permit animal testing and it is difficult to keep up with which ones do and which ones do not. However, I have not bought L'Oreal since I was in my early 20's because of animal testing. I have a few items of IT and like them fine (not great), but I will no longer purchase any.

I congratulate Jamie because she has put her heart and soul into her company and deserves this recognition. I just wish it was with a company that seems to have her ideals at the forefront (at least I think she is opposed to animal testing).

The next time that I hear salt and ice together, it better be in a margarita!

I don't care much about what happens to the brand either. There are plenty more where IT came from. What I do care about is testing on animals. Many many companies manage to produce quality cosmetics without torturing animals but the almightly dollar is more important to investors and founders. My understanding is that if you are going to sell MU and skin care in China you MUST test on animals. So, no more IT for me.

@BridgegalNo, this is not 100% true. There ARE other ways to prove safety to China without animal testing but it is more expensive so many companies, like L'oreal, opt for the cheaper way which is animal testing. It is a shame. So if you buy IT cosmetics now, you are lining the pockets of L'oreal which still test on animals, regardless of whether or not IT claims to sill be cruelty free. It is a slight of hand.

I just read an article in Allure about this, so disappointed to hear this. The pattern I have seen and experienced is that the products remain the same for a year or so and then the formulation change. Philosophy is a perfect example. As you can tell by my blog name, I am/was a Philosophy addict, I've been a Philosophy users for well over 15 years! Sadly, Christine sold the company and now they are a bath and body cream company and all the great skin care for the most part can be sold in drug stores. Even Purity, I have to wash my face twice to get what little makeup I wear off. The older I get, the less makeup I wear and Purity doesn't seem to do the trick any longer. I still use a few items but I've been moving towards Paula's Choice. Anyway, so sad, 'IT' was good while it lasted!
