Has anyone heard of or tried any of the: body wraps, skin care, vitamin/diet supplements from a company named "It Works!"? A friend's daughter has just stared selling these products and I am being pursued relentlessly to become "a loyal customer" which involves signing up for auto-delivery when purchasing. I turn to you now after I searched the web for information on this company. At 61 I am much more cautious now what I put in or on by body. HELP!

Not trying to be funny (Blame it on the lack of sleep) But, if IT WORKED, we would all have smooth, cellulite free legs and our Doctors office would be prescribing them.

With all seriousness, it's a multi level marketing co. - which in my eyes means over priced products to ensure EVERYONE is getting paid. Just my two cents.

But, if you want to try them, go for it Smiley Happy Can't hurt - I did hear that the body cream is loaded with like 7-8 parabens, I don't think any product needs that many....ick!!

Thanks, Sandgirl. I totally agree with what you said. I am leaning towards not purchasing anything but in doing so, I don't want my friend or her daughter to be upset with me.

Overpriced is right. There are huge markups involved for territory managers, even though the party hosts don't get that much. I avoid all party plan companies, jewelry,, handbags, house décor, even the fabled Tupperware. And auto delivery? No way. If they are upset with you, they are not true friends. I'm betting they wake up within a few months.

I would not order from a company like that. They shouldn't be upset with you. You should be upset with them for putting so much pressure on you. Auto-delivery is ridiculous to expect of someone.

From my experience, I would not buy any. My husband and I have a small business and attend craft shows. There was a vendor there selling "It Works" and was asking people to sign there names to enter a contest to win a free session.

I signed my name and won one free session. She came over to my house and did 2 wraps and explained the longer I kept them on (even sleep with them), the more they would work. Very difficult to sleep with Saran wrap around your body. Before she started, she measured the area and told me to keep them on as long as possible. I ended up taking them off about 6 hours later before I went to bed and DH measured me. I stayed exactly the same.

IMO, I wasn't "wowed" by this product, but thankfully, didn't have to pay out any $. She called the next day to see if I wanted to "sign up" for auto delivery and I said no thanks.

If these people are 'true friends', they will stay your friends even if you don't buy.

I saw these products in a catalog I got once or twice. I think the catalog was ""Be Beautiful."" And the products (I think a body cream and a hand cream) were very expensive. Didn't even think about purchasing them.

Thank you HisElk and others. I just feel so beaten down to purchase because the daughter repeatedly says how this "" business"" will help her family even though she and her husband have great jobs.

I don't buy from anyone who uses high pressure tactics and if they are my friend, they would know that.

You're welcome, espree.

Just a thought for you to consider: my husband and I are both retired (DH was retired by the company he worked for 34 years; it wasn't his decision). Anyhow, after that occurred, we decided to start a small business and attend craft shows with our product.

We have friends as you do and some of our friends purchased some of our products but we never pushed them into it. Also our small business is not one of those direct sales (pyramid type) businesses either.

My point is that I don't want them to talk you into something that you really won't use or don't need. A true friend wouldn't do that. Hope this helps.

Edited to say that I just had another thought as to why the "push". I can't be 100% sure, but I'd guess the person she signed up under is pushing her to get customers as that will elevate that person's income. That's how the direct sales works from what I understand.

There are many of those companies and when we see one of them at a craft show, we steer clear of them.
