Re: It Cosmetics snail slime is correct

I'm not attacking anyone with my comment. It's just a comment about my own feelings

The way humans all over the world use animal parts and whole animals for everything you can think of makes me so very sad. I wish and pray it all would stop.God gave us power over animals ,but I often wonder what He ment by that.

I wonder how all these uses for animals and animal parts have been discovered anyway.

I do see the snails in my yard leave a very pretty oil like line across the walk way as they pass through.

No I don't eat them, (animals) wear them or use them or their byproducts in cosmetics or anything else if I know about it.

BTW mother dogs/cats eat the placenta

edited to ask........how does honey harm the bee's? (honest question)

Re: It Cosmetics snail slime is correct

A very similar thread came out before the Dec 2013 TSV with the supersized CC cream. Snail secretions are commonly used in cosmetic products, especially those made in China.

It has been raining in California and there should be snails galore. The French call them escargot and charge a hefty price for them. Remember the scene in Pretty Woman?

Just in case you want to cook these critters...

INGREDIENTS

16 tbsp. unsalted butter, softened
¼ cup minced ?at-leaf parsley
1 tbsp. white wine
1 tsp. cognac or French brandy
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 shallot, minced
Kosher salt, freshly ground black pepper, and nutmeg, to taste
24 extra-large snail shells
24 canned extra-large snails
Rock salt
Country bread, for serving

INSTRUCTIONS

1. In a bowl, whisk together butter, parsley, wine, cognac, garlic, and shallots with a fork. Season with salt,
pepper, and nutmeg. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight to let the ?avors meld.

2. Heat oven to 400°. Spoon about ½ tsp. of butter mixture into each snail shell. Push a snail into each shell; ?ll shells with remaining butter mixture. Cover bottom of a 9" x 13" baking pan with a layer of rock salt. Arrange snail shells butter side up on bed of salt and bake until butter sizzles, 10–12 minutes. Serve snails on a platter, with bread to soak up the butter, if you like.
