Just my opinion..... but makeup brushes should be cleaned after every use. Just wash with whatever facial cleanser you have. I clean my brushes in my cupped palm, then rinse well. I store my brushes flat in a drawer, on a terrycloth washcloth. They're dry and ready the next time I need them.

The It double-ended foundation brush is my fave - I've never noticed a smell, tho.

I use my green tea bar soap, works just fabulous! I've tried some shampoos, didn't work as well.
