Hi...I just got the It Beauty Book Vol.6...and was looking forward to "playing" with it...then noticed it's made in China...did not know It Cosmetics were made in China...very disappointed...it's going back...Anyone know of any cosmetics that are not made in China? getting really tired of all this stuff...I'd rather go without makeup...

@BJRich    Cosmetics are a minor thing.  How do you feel about going without a computer, cell phone, clothing, prescription and OTC drugs, your refrigerator, small aplliances, your alarm clock, hair dryer and a million other manufactured products?

Kind of silly to get upset over one cosmetic product.

@BJRich I don't buy cosmetics or food from China if I can help it.  Especially not seafood.  I quit seafood out a log time ago when origin wasn't specified.

I hate that so much medicine comes from there. Good for you for sending it back.

@Kachina624 ..I know much of what we use comes from China...but I draw the line at food or anything I'm putting in or on my body...I do not think that is "silly"...

@Sooner    @BJRich   How do you feel about swallowing a pill made in China?  You've probably done it and didn't even know it.  Cosmetics are an innocuous threat compared to drugs

I don't eat seafood either.  All oceans are so poluted now, heaven only knows what's in it.  Besudes, I don't like fish.

It's actually hard to determine if your food comes from China.  Unless the entire product comes from China, it doesn't have t be labeled as such.

So much of our food gets sent to China to be procsssed and then sent back to the US in some form or another.

@Kachina624 I don't like taking medicine made in China but I can't always do anything about it.  I don't eat seafood from most of Asia. I have good choices from Alaska and other USA areas.

ETA:  I will say that I can't control everthing in my life, but when I have an opportunity to do something and make a better choice, I will do it.

Cosmetics count too--not putting it near my face or body.

@Sooner  I refuse meds from China, but also India. Many have not been bioidentical and caused issues w/ my thyroid.

Sorry to offend any nationalities.

@Shanus How do you refuse them?  Does your insurance company have a problem with it?  And do you use a specific brand???  If you choose not to reply of course I understand.  But thanks for mentioning this!

@Sooner   Add Bangladesh to our list. CVS refuses to have the computer capabilities to keep our request on file, so if they fill a RX from "there", we ask that they obtain it from another lab. You can get an "exception" from Medicare to not have the genaric but may be more expensive...worth it to us. The exception lasts for a year and then you call again. BlueCross Advantage bills Medicare and then Medicare pays some and BlueCross pays some and we pay the little $$$ that's left.

Our local CVS already knows we will not accept meds from those countries. Some meds are avail. from Sweden, Israel, Canada.....You can request from your pharmacy that your meds are not manufactured from those 3 countries. The bottle says country of origin and pharmacist needs to look on bottle before filling the perscription. It's quite confusing, but we did have a "sit down" with pharmacist to let them know our preference.

Keep in mind that neither of us are retired or on a fixed income...yet.
