I remember on the last Manuela visit she responded to someone's question, if this cleanser removes make up. Her answer was "no" for this purpose. I don't remember, what she did suggest to remove make up with, but clearly remember - this is NOT a make up remover.
Though I manage to remove my make up with it, no problem. Just use a little more, if I have it on. I find it to be a very good cleanser for the skin, it does brighten up from using it even alone.

That would drive me bonkers!why double cleanse? Why wouldn't you just forgo the cleanser that isn't actually thoroughly cleansing?

Not only the oils, but I clearly remember recommendations to remove the make up first with a "make up remover", or wipes. There are even tons of products for this specific purpose.
Isomers cleanser cleanses and balances your skin, but it is not a make up remover. Though I manage still to do so with a little more of it.

At the risk of being shot down by Purity fans, I think this cleanser is harsh and does long term damage. Using it with a Clarisonic will just make matter worse, IMO. Better to use a makeup remover and then a "good" cleanser that won't cause underlying irritation.

I love oil cleansers (Oh!! And OLO is my next one to try. It's sitting under my sink waiting on me to finish my current bottle) but if my oil cleanser doesn't rinse clean or remove everything, I'm done with it. Even the JM model citizen one that was super thick (and then suddenly wasn't -- strange.....) I *almost* felt like needed something after it, unless I rinsed and rinsed and rinsed. That being said, I like the Isomers DD cleanser, but only use it in the am, on a MU free face.
Hm that would drive me nuts. I just like a streamlined routine and having to double cleanse would just add an extra step I don't want. Cleansers don't stay on your skin long enough to provide much in the way of skincare anyway so I don't rely on them to "tone" or anything else beyond cleaning. UGH, I didn't like the Josie maran cleansing oils. The model citizen was slightly better than the regular but definitely not something I wanted to continue using.
Let me know what you think about OLO when you try it! I LOOOOOOVE that stuff!

I have tried different cleansers but if it does take the makeup off it was too drying for me.On 3/6/2015 JeanCA said: I use this cleanser but I use my cleansing oil first so my makeup is removed completely with both steps. All I want to say, which ever way you'll decide to remove your makeup, the Isomers Double Duty cleanser is an excellent product! One must have well balanced skin, like fresh, clean canvas, before you start with the rest of your facial routine for it to really work well.
There is no comparison to Isomers products in my opinion. This specific product does skin cleansing and balancing job very well.
Yeah, like was suggested earlier, use it at least in the morning, when you have no makeup on. Or in the shower in the evening. Plenty of warm water will remove a lot of stuff off your face, even before you use your cleanser. All you have to work on just a little bit harder, is your mascara and eyeliner.
I like to spread Double Duty on my face using just a dab of water, and let it stay on, while I am doing something else for couple of minutes.
It is great stuff! You'll see you skin will get glow, get brighter, and lighter, and breathing better too.
Yes, it is very different from any other cleansers you've used. But it is better. Don't give up on it yet!
