Is there a trick to shapening Smashbox Nude Lip Liner????

I love this pencil but I cannot, for the life of me, figure out how to sharpen it. I have dozens of makeup pencil shapeners of all sizes, and they all break the pencil. Seems the outside of the lip liner is made of a hard plastic or something! Has anyone successfully sharpened this pencil? Please share your secret....please!!!!!
