Is it Me? Mally's Starlight Eyeliners (Waterproof?) & Shadow Sticks?

Hi Ladies,

I recently purchased the 10 piece eyeliner set from Mally as well as the specially priced shadow stick trio. My question is - WHAT in heck am I doing wrong? It seems the shadow sticks DO crease on me and the liners are NOT bullet proof.

Do I need a primer first? Am I applying it incorecctly? (ie: should I not use the two together?). Any help or opinions on these two products would be wonderful. I really don't want to have to return as I threw out the packaging and like the colors.
