Re: Is anyone else over the “Dewey” look?

Powdery and matte are two different
finishes. I like a matte finish but I would never want a powdery look.

Re: Is anyone else over the “Dewey” look?

Almost every makeup line has and is coming out  w/ tinted moisturizers, skin tints, very little coverage foundations with some sheen/dewey look.

You can always adjust a more dewey foundation or skin tint with concealer and a bit of setting powder.

If you bgin with a matte, full coverage foundation, it will show up every flaw in your complexion. That's one reason geishas needed to take excellent care of their skin to be able to wear ful lcoverage white makeup.

Dewey?  Sweaty?  Glowing? Greasy?

No thank you.  So if non-shiny, dewey, glowy, greasy, sweaty looking skin makes me look old, at least I'll look my age!  And I am proud of the age I am.

And my skin still has to be helped along to not look dewey, sweath, glowy, etc. etc. etc.

Re: Is anyone else over the “Dewey” look?

I remember hearing that if you paint a wall that has imperfections use matte because the more reflective and glossy the more the imperfections will show.  I know my face is not a wall but the same concept applies to my face. When I use glowy or dewy I can see more pores and lines. I don't want to look chalky or flat either.  However I guess if you have some natural oils in your skin that probably won't happen.
