Is Philosophy now testing products on animals?

I saw on a FB thread today that Philosophy is no longer considered cruelty free and if the country it’s products are made in requires animal testing, it complies.

I am very upset with this new information. I have been a customer of Philosophy’s for many years and am praying this isn’t true.

Has anyone heard this or can someone from QVC answer my question?

Coty now owns Philosophy and Coty tests on animals........so yes ,it does .

I just went on Coty.com and searched animal testing ~ and what comes up is how Coty's Covergirl becomes th largest make up brand to be "leaping bunny" certified ~

I was wondering if its just certain brands Coty animal tests on ~

I no longer purchase Philosophy as their Parent Company is not cruelty free.

I don't purchase ANY cosmetic line that tests on animals or any linewhose parent company tests on animals.

“Except where required by law” is referring to: when companies want to sell in China, China still requires animal testing on cosmetic products. So since Philosophy is sold in China (as well as many other brands, just do a google search of brands sold in China), they have to test on animals there, even if they are “cruelty free” here.
