@SurferWife

when I add my blush it seems to take away from the color of my blush

It DOES alter the color (take away) from the blush.  That's why, if I wear both, I apply bronzer first and then blush, starting the blush a little in front of where I started the bronzer and then blend the two.  So in essence, starting from front to back, you have blush-a blend of blush and bronzer- and bronzer towards the back (hairline).  Right or wrong, it's how I do it Smiley Happy

I have the Clinique powder bronzer and Milani cream bronzer, both in the lightest.  I like the Clinique; it gives a natural bronzed look, but I think what I don't like is the placement.  I apply it at the top of the ear, right smack dab on the cheekbone, but then when I apply my pink blush it's like the two merge into a muddy mess.

Try starting the bronzer a little further back from the apple of the cheek.  Start the blush on the apple or wherever you think looks best and work back towards your bronzer and blend.  You'll find the right placement.  Just keep working on it.  If you know your face shape, you can enlist the help of Google to find the best placement.  I did the "boyfriend" placement for awhile but have gone back to putting it higher.

I don't know if you've watched it but Samantha March has a declutter video that was just posted 13 hours ago. Bronzers is the first category. It might be something you'd be interested in watching. The next category is blush.

A lighter bronzer may be the answer.  I'm very light and have to use a light bronzer or it looks bad.

The one I've been using for many years now is super cheap and perfect for me, so much so that I've had no desire to even look for another one.

It's " Essence Sun Club Matt bronzing powder " in lighter skin. It's $4.99 at drugstore and it's perfect!

Thanks for responding so quickly to my inquiries.  I've ordered both the Bronzer (Beachwalk Betty)  and the Blush (Bermuda Rose).  Both are on sale on Amazon.

Excellent choices, @SurferWife, but I'll warn you that Bermuda Rose may only be the beginning 😉.  RMS  blushes are talc free, in beautiful shades and they apply so nicely that you'll probably get more shades. @JudyL will back me up in that.  I have every one of her powdered blushes and all but one of the Lip2Cheek cream blushes.  I still might get that last one.  I got rid of my the Laura Geller blushes when I converted to RMS.

I'm on the fence.  I do use bronzer; I have both a cream and a powder form, but sometimes I think my finished make-up look looks just fine without it.  I also think it interferes with my blush.  I'm not necessarily trying to contour, just "wam up" my complexion.

Your thoughts on bronzer? Yay/Nay?

I think I need to stop watching too many influencers...LOL!

@SurferWife   I find a bronzer shade difficult to look natural on my fair complexion. I do have RMS Boardwalk Betty, but just brush across it lightly and then across my blush (mixing them) and then apply.

If you look a little "blah" w/ just blush, you may need a brighter shade of blush or a darker/better match of foundation.

Hope this helps.

@monicakm   I forgot to add my favorite bronzer/highlighter compact by Charlotte Tilbury....Filmstar Bronze and Glow in Fair/Medium.

I like the cream one in winter from Makeup By Mario.

I like using a matte bronzer. AVON makes a nice one and it's mineral, zero talc. I actually learned where to apply it from a MU junkie friend of mine. In a dark room, in front of a mirror, shine a flashlight down on your face from above at about a 45" angle. You'll see where the light illuminates the planes of your face and that's where you apply your bronzer.

I use my powder bronzer as my blush--mostly during the summer--have no idea how to use it  on my face.
