A few years ago I decided to get serious about my skincare and purchased a sonic cleansing brush similar to a Clarisonic.  I used that thing religiously.  The brushes didn't feel irritating on my skin, they didn't spin around to cause any abrasions, but I ended up with some broken capillaries.  I ceased using the cleansing brush, but once a capillary is broken, you're sunk unless you go for laser treatments.  Still wanting to use a cleansing tool, I bought a Foreo Luna Mini from one of the other shopping networks.  I loved that thing, but it konked out after only a year.  Now I'm using a Foreo Luna dupe from Amazon and couldn't be happier.  It's even better than the genuine article because it's bigger, has a speed adjustment, holds a charge for several months (like 4-5), and was only 1/5 the cost.  Because of my experience, I would strongly urge you to consider one of these cleansing tools rather than a Clarisonic.

There are also manual silicone cleaning pads. I purchased mine at Walmart.

As far as a Clarisonic is concerned, I do not think it necessary to remove makeup or have clean skin.

I wouldn't consider these to be on the same level as the Foreo Luna dupe.  IMO, the motorized vibration is more consistent and makes a difference.

My Clarisonic Mia died about a year ago--I'd had it for about 3 years, used once daily. I don't really miss it. I think a microfiber washcloth does just about as good a job of cleaning skin/removing makeup...though usually I just use Simple brand wipes for makeup removal at night, and the washcloth in the morning.

I have both the regular one and the Mia and I love them both.  I use mine each night with a bit of Wen and then put on my moisterizer.  My skin is in great shape.

Re: Interested in your thoughts on clarisonic etc.........

@zengirll I have seen Clinique's facial cleansing device on display at Saks Fifth Avenue, but I know nothing about how it works, so I'm unable to compare it to the Clarisonic. I do own the Clarisonic Mia 2, and in my opinion, it's an amazing device and not at all a waste of money. I checked with my dermatologist before purchasing it, and he was all for it. The only thing he stipulated for me was to use the sensitive brush heads because I have rosacea. I feel it deeply cleans my skin, and I can definitely feel and see a difference when I fail to use it. Everyone's skin is different. It's important to find what's right for you. I'm displeased to learn that someone now has a broken capillary as a result of the Clarisonic.

I tried those before I got my clarisonic and wasn't particularly impressed.

I LOVE my Mia! Had it for 4 years now and going strong. I am 62 with pretty great skin anyway but it just seems to make my skin soft and   and brighter. That may be because my skincare and makeup do what they are supposed to do and not just sit on top on my skin. Also remember, that these  machines are cleansers ; you still need to exfoliate too. Got my Mia at Nord*strom sale in July. Got the shebang for under $90 with free s/h. I use the radiance brushes .

Re: Interested in your thoughts on clarisonic etc.........

I have a clarisonic (the larger size) and love it. I really need the exfoliation every couple of days as i have very dry skin. It's good to get a deep clean. I'm always amazed how I can see makeup on it even after I thougth i had cleaned my face. HOWEVER - if I were to get that type of thing for my face now, I would get that other type the Foreo. I like that there is no separate brush attachment - no replacement brushes to buy. If i were to get another I'd get that instead.

Can you tell me the name of the dupe you purchased? I am interested in trying one of these and getting one for my teen daughter. Thanks!!

@ctinaw  If you go to Amazon, type in "silicone cleansing brush".  Make sure you get one that's rechargeable (some use batteries).  The one I bought looks like this.
