What reaming? People disagreed with you and said why. I've read your posts and replies here and on a couple of other threads and it reads like you've got a big chip on your shoulder and QVC is one of your targets. It's sad.

Some of these discussion can get off track. My understanding of your post was you were upset at how much QVC charges for shipping and returns. Yes, as many have pointed out, you don't have to use their return label, or buy a new envelope. However, the base issue you bring us is quite valid. QVC's shipping fees are well above average. I just purchased 3 items - 2 tanks and a lightweight jacket. They were all shipped in 1 box, weighing a few ounces and the charge was 11.97 (that's with the multiple item discount).

There are many websites that offer free shipping, as well as real sales (i.e. 20% off). My theory is this - QVC was born as a TV channel. For years, people would watch a show and call in to purchase one item. If you missed the show, you never saw the item. There were no sales. Charging a per item shipping fee worked for this business model.

The internet has changed all of this. TSV emails are sent out days ahead, you can shop the entire inventory on line. The "buy one item at a time right now" scenario no longer applies, but they have not updated their shipping fees to match this business model.

Bottom line - shop around. There are MANY sites that offer cosmetics with free shipping and generally no tax. If you have a favorite brand, sign up on their website and they will send you deals all the time.

Some people just want to have their cake and eat it too, and it does not work that way in real life. Options everywhere. Pick what suits you best. QVC is clear on their return policies. If they don't suit your needs, move on.

QVC's integrity certainly isn't in question. Reason being everything is clearly defined on your receipt as to what you were charged, and what will be deducted for a return should you choose to use the prepaid label. You can always print out a return label from your order history on QVC.com and pay the postage, but often with insurance the amount is very close to the amount for using the easy return label.

We all choose what is best for ourselves, but the only way one could question QVC's integrity would be if they did not note on ALL receipts that there is a fee deducted from your return for using the easy return label. This is not an uncommon practice as many companies which offer prepaid return labels take a deduction from the return amount for doing so.

Whew, thanks for saying this Buck-i-Nana. I thought the same thing...not only from reading this thread, but from other posts of CoG's as well. Yes, a chip on the shoulder sounds about right. Too bad.

HSN works no differently than QVC. The only apparent change on HSN applies to their HSN card holders who some claim now get their return label fees put into an account to spend on future purchases. That's a pretty cool incentive, if you want to have the credit card.

It was stated above that if a sewing machine was purchased from HSN with free shipping then it could also be returned with free shipping. That is not accurate. While they offer many higher end items with free shipping (which the Q has also commenced doing) that only applies to outgoing shipping fees. You will still be responsible for absorbing the cost to return any item back to them which is no different that QVC. They also use PP labels with clearly marked amounts on them. I have purchased item from HSN that were free ship but on the few I returned, the shipping costs were paid by me.

If I ever buy like items from any TV retailer and decide to return them, I always place as many as I can in one box or one envelope to save on return shipping costs. It has never been a problem for me and only one PP label has to be used.

I'm still perplexed as to why "integrity" was the title used here. I think "buyer beware" or "know the rules" would have been more applicable. If someone is buying without being fully knowledgable of all the potential fees involved, then that is a buyer's ignorance, not QVC, HSN or others.

QVC has had to adapt to increasing shipping fees as all online and TV retailers have. Do I think they overcharge on some smaller cosmetic items, absolutely, yet if I choose to make the purchase anyway, I can hardly fault them for that. That's all my responsibility.

Today- free return label for sewing machine and accessories to HSN. This is not rare, customer service assured me it was custom. Perhaps reading what is actually written might assist comprehension. Thank you all for your well meant criticism. Lesson learned. The company I've trusted for 20 years has changed. The hosts are gone with a few exceptions, the most popular products are being sold elsewhere. Policies are implemented without warning . The community is a dangerous forum. Goodbye all, God bless.
