I used dphue gloss a few times and felt it did nothing. When I need to cover some gray between coloring my hair I found Rita Hazen spray to be the best for me.

Yes!  I can recommend one.  I use the bright red hair mask mid-cycle of my normal color routine.  I do mix it with my WEN remoist treatment (although it is made to be used alone) & wow!  It makes it look like I just came from the salon.  The hair mask comes in many colors.

@tsavorite My stylist, who I've been going to for years, recently passed away. Because I've been going to her for years, she gave me a nice break on the price. Every 4 weeks she dyed my roots and every 3 months she highlighted my hair. She always joked and said I am a sure thing which is why she gave me a break on price. I don't want to pay $250 for highlights and $110 for dye, which is what the price would be with a new stylist. I know what brand of dye she used on my hair. I went to Sally's and they were very helpful. I bought Wella 9N (I am a blond) along with Colorcharm developer. I bought a mixing bowl, a tiny measuring cup (2 ounces of developer to 1/2 tube of dye) and a couple of 'paint' brushes. I talked my husband into dying my hair. Granted, I was terrified but I have to say, best dye job ever! I am able to do the front and sides, just can't do the back. Super easy to do and we just paint the dye onto the new growth. I calcuated the cost to be less than $10 each time I dye my hair. Since I am no longer spending $75 every 4 weeks, I don't feel bad spending $250 on highlights.

@Janey2 I did say it didn't cover grays.  I just use it to refresh my color since reds fade.

@weezer111  thanks so much for that idea!  I have the same color hair and need roots done every 10 days.  I didn't know Madison Reed had that!  Looking it up right now.

I didn't know Madison Reed had stores or is it salons? I do like their hair color when I colored at home.

I just looked into it.  They have stores called Color Bars, looks like they're opening quite a few.   I didn't even realize I have one about 10 miles away.  The monthly plan looks really good...unlimited roots and you can book online.  I think I'm going to go for an overall color and then sign up for the monthly plan.

@Tori3569 Wow! That sounds pretty awesome and a great idea for color and touch-ups. Let me see if I have any in my area.

Just looked: zero in my state right now.
