What can microcurrent do for you?
Originally developed for treating facial palsy, microcurrent in the esthetic realm can:
• Re-educate muscles
• Increase blood and lymph circulation
• Enhance the penetration of the active ingredients of skin care formulations
• Increase the production of collagen and elastin
• Increase protein synthesis, gluconeogenesis and cell membrane transport
Dos and don’ts
Microcurrent is safe to use on the face, neck and even the under-eye area. It should not be used on eyelids. Water or a water-based gel should be used to ensure the conductivity of the microcurrent and for comfortable use of the device. Microcurrent can typically feel a little tingly or prickly. This will vary greatly depending on the individual’s level of sensitivity.

Microcurrent devices are usually the ones that give you the most temporary results. In other words, results that last only a couple of days at best. Some derms have stated that prolonged use of the devices may result in giving you more lines and wrinkles than what you started out with. So, aside from the other possible benefits from using a microcurrent device, there are other more effective, non-surgical treatments for collagen induction and skin tightening which will give longer lasting results.

The parathyroid glands and thyroid glands are on the neck. It is wise to stay away from these areas.

• Re-educate muscles
• Increase blood and lymph circulation
• Enhance the penetration of the active ingredients of skin care formulations
• Increase the production of collagen and elastin
• Increase protein synthesis, gluconeogenesis and cell membrane transport

I find interesting that microcurrent was originally developed for facial palsy and re-educating facial muscles. I had facial numbness and some minor facial immobility on one side of my face after tmj surgery and then movement of my jaws for sleep apnea. I actually looked like I was smirking when I smiled. Used the nuface mini with no real difference in that issue. Bought the nuface trinity with ele and my numb facial muscles are moving. I posted that in my on line review last week, definitely before I saw your post @CherryHugs. Did not expect treatment of that issue, but am delighted that I can speak more clearly and smile without looking like a sma** a**. Still have some numbness but that is improved. Am still intrigued by micro needling @SilleeMee, need to get the book you recommend.
