If you've used Laura Geller's primer...

What does it do for your skin?  TIA

had to stop using it pretty quickly.

it really created an "oil slick" on my face and made me break out.

i MUCH prefer the SMASHBOX brand for primers.

Re: If you've used Laura Geller's primer...

Hi, @spent2much !  I use the Ethereal Spackle and really like.  I use it all over my face even eyelids and I get no creases in my eye shadow.  In my younger days, I had oily skin; these days (I'm 68), ive lost the oiliness and have "normal" skin.

On the days I wear make-up, I use Cera Ve Vitamin C Renewing Serum on my clean skin, followed by the spackle.  I don't use foundation and none of my make-up (blush, eyebrows, mascara and shadows) slide off.

Re: If you've used Laura Geller's primer...

@spent2much - I LOVE Laura's Spackle and have been using it for years!

My favorite is Champagne. When I first started using it that color was harder to get, so I "rationed" it. I wore it under my makeup if I was going out. If not I wore the Regular.

Champagne under my makeup gives me a soft glow when my makeup is on. Sometimes I wear it by itself. My skin feels so soft. I don't use a lot; it spreads easily.

I put it on after my sunscreen, then let it dry a minute while I select the colors I'll be using. Then I will put my foundation on.

Laura has a lot of formulas now. There is a lot to choose from. DD likes the Ethereal. She is Fair and cool complected. I'm Light and warm complected.  Smiley Happy

While I could definitely stand to use foundation, I don't like the feel of it and don't wear a lot of makeup.  Sometimes I'll put on the Bronze spackle just to give my face a little more color.  Then a little blush and brow gel (I am losing my eyebrows).  The Spackle doesn't feel plasticky like some primers did on my face.   (I didn't like the Smashbox primer for that reason.)

Spackle made me breakout. This was several years ago. I don't know about any new formulas.

I tried it several times over the years with the same unfortunate result...I got milea bumps within 24 hours. Bummed, as I like Laura's line and have worn Balance and Brighten for years. Whatever the ingredient is that creates the "slip" for a primer just busts out the hard white skin bumps on me.

I'm a fan of LG Spackle.  Right now, I have the Bronze (summertime use) and Ethereal Rose (the rest of the year) versions opened. For me, Spackle isn't overly siliconey and occlusive feeling when you apply it, which is a big plus, but I believe it seals in skincare and makes a nice surface for makeup application.  I've also used the Champagne version and liked it as well.  Somehow I ended up with multiples of Ethereal in my stash and a Diamond I want to try out one of these days.

I like Laura Geller's spackle.  I've used several variations of hers over the years.  I've been using her Bronze Spackle as it gives me a little bit of warm color before applying other makeup products.  Sometimes, the spackle alone is all that's needed for the day.  I like that it doesn't 'sit' on your face nor does it feel like you have a coating of anything on your skin.

I use and really like LG diamond spackle. I add it to my liquid foundationsto thin it out --and of course that is after my serums and spf and moisturizers--does not slick up my face at all. Have desert dry skin year round.-- and use it before I use just a powder too. Makes my skin nice and smooth.
