@RollTide2008 - me too. I wear mascara every day also and 3 months is about all I get from a tube.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

I stopped using mascara entirely because the last time I did use it I had a problem with my eyes.  Admittedly, the mascara was older than 3 months and since I wouldn't wear it every day it would be a waste of money for me.

@justashopper  - It's always been 3 months.  I've never heard of 6 months.  When I was wearing it everyday, I could never go longer than 3 months.

I don't think they were just trying to sell more mascara.

I wear mascara most days, usually every day.  Near 90 days it’s getting dryer and dryer.  Although I have not applied this to eye liner because I use multiple colors on different days, and I sharpen them often, giving new, fresh exposed product.  I started doing the mascara every quarter, so I know the dates.  Jan 1, April 1, July 1, Oct 1.  Works for me.  I never heard 6 months on mascara.

Okay, I dont want to be gross but

Spoiler
Don't our eyebrows, eyelashes have "organisms" (or "mites") living in them?  Wouldn't that be some sort of consideration in how long we use the same tube of mascara?

Demodex folliculorum and Demodex brevis

(I know, it's probably a gross thought.  That's why I'm trying to put it here as a "spoiler.")

I only use mascara a couple of times a week so I would never use a tube up in 3 months.  I like the trial sizes for that reason if you can find it in what you like.  I guess it is better to buy cheap mascara.

I use many different ones daily and I have never had any that lasted more than a month or two.  Cannot imagine anyone having a tube of mascara for that long!  i would think it would dry out if kept that long anyway.

Re: If this is wrong, I don't want to be right. LOL

I would never use up a tube in 3 months, but always always replace my mascara every 3 months. When I open a new tube, I write the date on the tube with a marker (as I do with all my makeup).

But I always wash and save all my mascara brushes. They're so handy for tiny housekeeping jobs, like cleaning jewelry. Use 'em and toss 'em.

I don't either.

I use it til it doesn't do its job for me anymore.

I run several diff brands at the same time though.

I have heard 3 mos as the rule.
