Wearing less doesn't work in this situation. I've worn Commodity fragrances for years. Way before they came out with their various strengths. I was familiar with the Milk fragrance. When they introduced the new "spaces" idea, I bought a 3.4oz bottle of Milk+. Mistake! It never dries down. It has an alcohol (just applied) smell for as long as it stays on the skin..a LONG time. I tried rubbing water on top. That didn't help nearly enough (if any). The bottle is still full and I don't want to waste it but if I can't figure out a way to lower the intensity and lose the alcohol smell, I can't feel comfortable in it.
Thanks

I'm not sure if this will help, but I've heard of spraying the perfume into the air then walking through the mist letting it setle on your clothes. It might difuse the scent over a larger area so it's less focused and intense.

@candys mine - Perfect! This is the same thing I was going to recommend. I've done this. I spray the perfume ahead of me and walk through it right away. It leaves a light scent of the fragrance, but it will last.

@monicakm Apply rubbing alcohol with a cotton ball in places that were overperfumed.

@monicakm I put perfume on the "soft spot" on the inside of my ankle bone. The fragrance rises, and it is not so potent. di

If you spray it into the air and walk through it, do it w/o any clothes on and that way the fragrance will permeate through, and not on, your clothing where clothing can make the fragrance not smell as it was intended to smell.
Perfumes are not meant to be applied to clothing. They're supposed to be put on bare skin so the 'chemistry' happens.

@monicakm - Another thing I do with some cologne or parfum: I used to work with someone who was very sensitive to fragrance. We weren't in the same office, but I didn't want to make her uncomfortable when we were together. Rather than wear no fragrance at all, I wore a very light fragrance and sprayed it on the backs of my knees. I checked with her, and she was fine with it. But if someone got really close to me they could smell it.
I'm around a lot of people on Sundays. I've started spraying my fragrance on the back of my neck. It doesn't overwhelm anyone, but if I hug anyone who's female they might notice it and comment. I've never received a negative comment. I asked someone I trust if it's too much, and she said definitely not.
I also use seasonal Wen. People have asked me what shampoo I use because it smells good!

My neighbor should do this. When I'm outside, I can always smell her before seeing or hearing her. It's like a warning.

Would you please clarify ....
Most perfumes are highly concentrated and dabbed from the bottle or stopper. They don't have the spritz top ... that's usually bottles of Eau de Toilette or Cologne.
I've never seen perfume in a spray bottle. It's too concentrated ... and pricey.
Either way, since scent and heat rises, I'd dab the perfume on the ankles or on the backs of my knees. The scent will be "around" you but not be so concentrated that it would cause others to sneeze - or step back from you.
