IT cosmetics- Where to start?

I am 53 years old and my present makeup and skin care just isn't cutting it for me. I am thinking of biting the bullet and trying IT. My question is where do I start?

Do I use their skincare first?

Do I purchase certain products in their makeup line?

What makes the most sense for a newbie?

Thanks!

Re: IT cosmetics- Where to start?

I would start with the CC cream. That's what I did. I use IT CC cream, eyeshadow, and a few other random products. I could definitely live without the random, but I love the CC cream and the eyeshadow. I have a pallette that's mostly browns, has one grey and one purple.

I have tried the skincare, it's ok but for me not worth the money.

The serum foundation in the compact is nice too. And their brushes are great, I've read here that the black handled ones are the best and I think that's true.

I agree I would start with the CC cream. The confidence in a compact is good also. But it seems in a lot of reviews people aren't using it right. Seems for some there is a learning curve. The blushes are really good also. If you want a bronze and highlight I would pick up the confidence in a glow blush pallet. The bye bye pores blushes are also great. You can't put on to much. The eyeshadow trios are really good. Really soft pretty look. If you don't want dramatic eyes these are perfect. That is where I would start. The cc cream, pick a blush, and then pick a trio of eyeshadow. Easy pretty look.

Another vote for starting with the CC.  In the warmer months, it is sometimes all I need.

I have never used any of their skincare, but my skin looks great when I use the CC!

I love the tightline too!

Re: IT cosmetics- Where to start?

I would start with the original Celebration Foundation. And the flat brush that comes with it is wonderful. Best make-up I have ever used! Looks natural, covers beautifully, and lasts all day. Love it!!!

Personally the CC Cream is too heavy and greasy for my taste.

I do use a little moisturizer underneath. And I top it off with a tiny dusting of the loose Bye Bye Pores powder. Just a teeny tiny amount is needed!

Love the IT Sweet Cheeks color loose blush too.

Good luck! IT Cosmetics are really great!

Re: IT cosmetics- Where to start?

I am 66 and have tried MANY foundations. In the IT line I most love the serum foundation in the compact because I can apply it very sparingly blending out from the middle of my face or build for extra cover. It does not settle into lines and I do not feel it at all.  I use the Sunshine in a compact bronzer in Warmth, CC+ blush in Naturally pretty, and Bye bye pores illumination over all. I finish with highlights of the Hello light créme. This entire process takes about 5 minutes and I am careful not to over apply the foundation.

If i am going to spend a lot of time outdoors I wear the CC creme illumination as my foundation being very careful to blend blend blend.

I like the CC Veil in a refillable compact . When I bought mine, it included the brush . The compact has a sponge inside, which soaks up the foundation. I lightly tap the brush on the sponge, then dab it on my forehead, cheeks, chin, and nose . A small amount goes a long way . Next, I buff those areas in, all over my face.  You can add more if you need to ; it does build up. Oh and btw, it's a refillable compact ; I order the refill in my shade and just place it into the compact from my very first order. Less plastic in the landfills , and more lines should do this . The refill also costs less than the compact . Kudos to IT for helping the environment .

Back to the foundation ..... I only apply it once , and like the very lightweight, " no-makeup " feeling it leaves. Reminiscent of when I used to wear Bare Minerals . When a few fine lines began to appear tho , I found that any powder makeup including blush, would settle into those lines. That's why I switched to the IT CC VEIL Foundation. It doesn't settle into lines .

I also use her eye shadow even tho it's compressed powder , which doesn't crease ; it's very silky and lasts all day .

I use a creamy stick blush and a gel blush from Josie Maran tho. No more powders at my age .

All my skincare is from Paula's Choice . The Q still sells it I believe, tho I never see a show anymore . IMHO, PC has the best skincare products  I've ever tried in my life ....especially for pores ...a 1 or 2% BHA liquid . Quick results too.

As far as trying skincare or foundation first from IT, I can only repeat what Jamie the founder said...that the makeup has anti-aging ingredients in it .

Good luck and hope you find the products that works for you. Smiley Happy

Re: IT cosmetics- Where to start?

I'm afraid to try their stuff now that the company has been purchased by L'Oreal.

I get aggravated when I find something I like and then the formula is changed.

Since that happens a lot when companies are bought out, I won't be trying IT Cosmetics any time soon.
