Did you soak the brush? Get water in the ferrule? Could you have been rough on the bristles when you were cleaning the brush & some of them are breaking off? I haven't used the IT Brush Cleanser, I use Mac Brush Cleanser, but I wash them gently without getting water in the ferrule, pat them dry a bit & lay them flat on a wash cloth on the window sill to dry.

My beautiful fan blush brush is falling apart.  I wash only the tips very gently and lay flat to dry and the handle is breaking off.  Loved IT brushes, now not so much.  I have a lot of them from foundations and bronzers and even bought 2 sets of IT brushes and none of them are holding up well.

I wash my IT brushes using the brush egg and dawn blue and never had a problem with them.  I wash them vigorously also.  Only brushes I have problems with falling apart are the ones made by Skinn.  They're held together by a very thin piece of thread.

IT brushes are my favorites.  I wash my IT double-ended foundation brushes with soap and water every time I use them and I haven't lost a bristle yet.  And they're old!

That's because the old ones were better.  Seems success kills off integrity.

I am hesitant to try the It Brush Cleaner because of the reviews on the internet. I had this happen with an It brush and I think it was because water seeped down into the end and loosened the glue. I took the brush to Ulta for their advice and that's what they thought happened. They recommend using baby shampoo and just wash halfway down. They said to wrap my finger around the top hairs of the brush to prevent water from getting down near the glue. I  'hang' my brushes over my bathroom counter to dry.  Another suggestion from the Ulta employee. She said to never let in dry on your counter and to always hang it over the edge to dry.

@BlingQueen022...me, too! Dawn does a great job, and that brush egg is FABULOUS!!

I love my IT brushes and use Johnson/Johnson Baby Shampoo on them.

Yes, one of mine started leaving hairs all over my face.  Lucky I had a new one and started using it.  So far the new one has held together.
