Re: IT LIPSTICKS

[ Edited ]

I'm not aware of any new stains from IT. Do you mean the Blurred Lines Lipstick Trio (A262387)? If so,  they don't have that fuschia tint IT's stains tend to have after wearing them for a while. The Blurred Lines lipsticks don't last as long as the stains, but they're richly pigmented, smooth and silky on the lips, and they do last a decent amount of time once applied! Definitely worth a try, in my opinion.

Are these the "new" lip stains that have the exact same ingredients as the older version?

Every single IT lipstick I have ordered, no matter how pale (je ne sais quoi), turns dark pink or deep rose within minutes of putting it on. I'm shocked they don't admit this. All got returned, sadly.

I love their other products (CC+ creams, foundations).

That deep rose-pink color is actually not attractive on most faces, it's  harsh.

(Yes, I have tried putting foundation on my lips first, putting a clear balm on first, you name it. No matter what, no matter how pale the shade, it immediately darkens.)

I had Too Faced Melted in Liquid Sugar that was too light and dry looking to wear alone and put that on first then applied the IT  Je ne se quoi over and it's not the dark berry color but a nice light pink.  I've also used Maybelline and Revlon's lasts all day lightest colors under with great results.

I have one of the blurred lines lipsticks that came in a TSV. I really like it and it doesn't stain your lips at all.

The new "Soft Stains" are glosses, not lipsticks.  I have the trio.

If that's what the OP's talking about, they're not really "new." Maybe just a new configuration? All the colors in the trio existed separately, and now they're a set. I've used all three of those colors. I love the way the glosses feel, and the stain does last forever! They do all stain a similar rosy color after a while, but I was always ok with that.

Sorry I can't quote but there are some new "soft" gloss stains. They formulated them for people who felt that the original formula turned too bright. They are wonderful and stay more true to color. I have one of the originals but I have to dab it on with a finger or it's way too bright. I actually like it, but I can apply the new ones directly from the wand like a regular gloss.

Interesting. Thanks for the info, @tucsongal. I'll have to check them out. I looked up "soft gloss stains" on QVC's website yesterday, and the trio that came up wasn't categorized as new; only as a best seller. I wonder how they look on!
