IT Bye Bye Pores and/vs Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder

I've been happy with IT Bye Bye Pores for years.  I finally caved and tried the LM setting powder.  Just got it today so I haven't acutally tested it yet with a full face of makeup.  But, I dabbed a bit on the back of my hand and did the same with the IT powder.  I was amazed how much more silky the IT Cosmetics powder was Smiley Surprised

Which do you like best and why?

Thanks

Re: IT Bye Bye Pores and/vs Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder

First, I confess that I haven't worn makeup since February.... but a few months before that, I bought Flower translucent finishing powder at Walmart.  I had used IT Bye Bye Pores for years.  I was surprised that the Flower brand powder worked the same, if not better, for me than the IT.

We're all different, and what works for me may not work for you.  But I love the Flower.

@tototwo

Thank you for your feedback.  I have the two setting powders mentioned above.  Trying to decide if I need to send back the LM powder.

I liek It's Bye Bye Pores better than Laura Mercier as well. It 's powder is much silkier. I also really like Dermablend's and you can try a sample size...

Re: IT Bye Bye Pores and/vs Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder

I've been using It powder for several years and like it as it doesn't make me look drier or powdery.  However, last week I dropped my small makeup drawer in my vanity upside down on the floor.....everything flew everywhere and it took me awhile to pick it up and I organized and cleared out stuff while doing that.

One little container was unfamiliar, so magnifying glass in hand I read the label and it was the Laura Mercier transluscent powder!  Gave it a whirl and wow I looked better, much better than with the It.  It blurs everything and doesn't look heavy or powdery, seems to do more than the It.

I am going back and forth between the two right now and probably will purchase more LM when this container is empty.  A little of it goes a very long way, doesn't change my face color, just makes everything look better.

The It is great for a very natural everyday look, and the LM looks more polished.

I am 74 and very fair with good skin, and this is working great for me.  My up-turned drawer was a good thing after all!

@monicakm    I've tried the IT powder when it first showed on Q. Went back 2 days later. It appeared chalky on me.

I use LM loose setting powder (white) and the LM Brightening Powder to set under eye concealer. It has no sparkle, just a certain property that actually lightens the look of the under eye.

I've not tried the IT but I've tried LM and it was a nice powder.  However, there are so many really good drugstore setting powders that are so much cheaper, I can't bring myself to spend the money on any of the high end powders anymore.

@Lipstickdiva   I certainly understand your point. I will say since setting powder is applied with such a light touch and not on the entire face using a fan brush or large fluffy brush tapped off back into the powder, very little is used. I've had the same Laura Mercier setting powder for 2 years. I only use it in my T ZONE.

@Shanus , the same with my much cheaper setting powders.

By and large, I am a drugstore make-up person now.  That didn't use to be the case.  But I think the drugstore has really stepped up their game with make-up and I just can't see spending the money on high-end for msyelf, although I still do occassionally.  However, if I was having my make-up done by a professional and they pulled out drugstore items, I wouldn't be too happy.

@Lipstickdiva   Funny that you say that. My clients turn their noses up, too if I don't use high end products. Maybe paying me, they expect that.
