I've Tried The Two Tatcha Primers This Weekend

Had occasion to use both of the Tatcha primer samples this weekend.  First I used the liquid...meh.  I'll stick with my Hourglass thank you.  Today I used the "balm"??  That's the only way I know how to describe it.

Again, meh but better than the liquid.  Clear winner, for me, is Hourglass.  But there are a lot of hydrating products under my primer.  I can't beleive  how dry my skin has gotten Smiley Sad  An Essence, Kombucha Green Tea, Snail Mucin, moisturizer and then primer

Winner:

Hourglass - Veil Mineral Primer Standard Size - 1 oz/ 30 mL

2nd place:

3rd place:

@monicakm OM gosh! I always like your posts, as you know, but when I read the ingredient "snail mucin" I almost threw up in my mouth!!

One of my chlldhood horrors was going outside barefoot at dusk when the grass had been watered and (ew) stepping on one. Still gives me the creeps to think about LOL.

@Love my grandkids

LOL, first, thanks so much!  Second, I can totally understand being traumatized by snail snot as a child Smiley Sad  I won't try to convince you that it's totally filtered and clean.  Nor will I tell you it's in many beauty products and has been used in the beauty realm for thousands of years.  I wouldn't want one crawling around on my face but his is clear with ZERO scent but it is slimy and it IS hydrating.  I love it.  Oh can I not tell you that I put it on my lips too (as well as the back of my hands).  Don't worry.  You're not the only one grossed out.  My daughter and grandson literally gag when I talk about it.  Cosrx is the brand I use.  I guess my only childhood memory of snails is seeing slime trails on the sidewalks.  BTW, snails are not harmed in the harvesting of snail snot.  In fact they're very happy little snails.  If they're not happy, they don't produce snot Smiley Happy

You stated that "you can't believe how dry your skin has gotten."  Is it possible one of the products you are using is drying your skin? I tried using an essence (a couple of different brands) and each left me very dry. My skin does better without the essence. You might rethink what products you are using.

@monicakm

Sometimes I use the Tatcha Silk Canvas, very very lightly,  but only as color & stay insurance for color on eyebrows, eye lids & lips.

The Liquid Silk Canvas is different from Tatcha original Essence, isn't it?

@monicakm ,I'm wondering how your skin got so dry with the products you use. They're suppose to hydrate, not dry out . Or maybe your mean your skin is dry without the products?

@monicakm   Just a thought....do you have a high water content diet?  Knowing how meticulous you are about skin care, I'd be surprised if you aren't eating lots of fruits and vegetables....amazing results for your skin over time.

Re: I've Tried The Two Tatcha Primers This Weekend

Thank you @Janey2  but the products I use AM and PM don't have any drying effects on my skin.  It got super dry before the products.  That's why I started using various hydrators and better moisturizers morning and night.

@Harpa   Yes, they are two totally different products.  The essence is the first thing you put on and can be used both morning and night.  It hydrates and helps your other products absorb better.  The Tatcha Liquid Silk Canvas is a makeup primer.  I use both before applying makeup.

@monicakm ,Do you still use the Glow Recipe BHA toner? I've been using the Glow Recipe juicy pink moisturizer, and am pleased with it. Nice scent and hydrating. I wear it even I don't use any other makeup some days.
