Kudos on a very sane and thoughtful response to a clearly baiting thread @Drythe.

I think exactly as you do.  The hysteria around here over a hair product is mind-boggling.

I too stopped using Wen. My scalp did burn after every color my hairdresser did.  I tried pumpkin cleanser still burned after getting color applied. Finally I tried only using Wen at home no more after a color process.  Oh yeah my hair dresser did show me the drain of hair fallout. I thought maybe stress and continued using . About a year later realized I wasn't stressed and it had to be Wen shampoo causing too much hair loss.

Wait a minute.....your scalp burned after hair coloring and you blame WEN? Interesting thought process.Hairdresser  showed you hair in the drain, your scalp burned, and you continued to use the product.  What else is interesting is that you used WEN for awhile and refer to WEN as "shampoo". I chat with a lot of WEN users and they all refer to it as CC-cleansing conditioner, because it definitely is NOT shampoo. You have a very interesting thought process .....I wish I was a trained psychologist at times like these. Then again, maybe some things are easier to figure out and don't require an advanced degree in order to do so.

@Wen_Woman

I found it very confusing too! Chemically laden (toxic)hair color on one hand, natural ingredient laden wen on the other? Must be the wen!?

JHC, it's like a dog with a bone. This stuff just seems to bring out the nasty on both sides.

Worse than the dogs in stores threads, that's hard to do.

I stopped using Wen exclusively awhile ago.  I went to a Devacurl specialist for the best cut ever and use the Decadence No Poo and conditioner.  Wen used to work pretty well for me, but the newer formulations have too much silicone and were starting to build up.  It appears silicones are not good for my curls.  Too much frizz.  I do think the hair mask is amazing, but I can't justify the price.  I'm waiting for the Vanilla Mint to be released.  I just adore the smell and like to use it once in awhile.  Unfortunately, the best Wen that worked on my hair was the Apple Spice.  I hated the smell.  Give the Devacurl a shot!

Hiya, @GoDucks! I also got the best cut of my life from a DevaCurl specialist. I love it SO much! I tried their cleansers and conditioners, but I didn't like them as much as Wen. Their gels are the bomb though. My HG combo is Wen for cleansing & leave-in and Deva for styling. My curls have never looked better!

@Chi-town girl, I am sooo confused. You already replied to this post of mine yesterday using the same wording. (Post #36).

And how did my siggie get on youri Post #71?

I don't mind either one at all, but I'm just curious. :-)

Those of you who have stopped using WEN -- what are you using now?  I have been using WEN for several years now.  I like it, but frankly, I really don't want to spend that much money on my hair.  The only other shampoos I have are the little bottles from hotels, and those shampoos and conditioners are just awful.  I use them occasionally to use them up, and then mistakenly think all shampoos are that bad, which I know they are not.

So to save money, I may switch to a store bought shampoo or alternate with Wen every other time.

So what store bought shampoos are good?  One of the reasons I like WEN is that my hair is not a tangled mess after washing.

After I stopped using Wen, I started using KEVIN.MURPHY YOUNG.AGAIN.WASH and Rinse., as my hair stylist suggested. I love it. My hair has been soft and shiny and no longer dry. It's a little pricey but a little goes a long way. Love it!

Immortelle
Produced from the flowers of the Helichrysum plant, it is rich in antioxidants to help stop damage to the hair.

I've been using WEN exclusively for close to 4 years. I've never experienced hair loss. I also use it on my puppy and he has never experienced hair loss either. We're WEN users for life!!

Re: I threw out what WEN I had in my Cupboards

I admit I've been experiencing that scalp buildup that I too can scrape off big time as well as itch.

Heres what I do...I alternate using Nick Chavez, and I also have to use Nuetrogena TGel shampoo which really removes that awful buildup. But, my hair itself is much nicer with the Wen.

I really think that the Wen formulas are so rich that the user needs to play with the amount used. Also, do not start on the scalp. Start at mid shaft first to cleanse the hair and then work towards the scalp to massage and really rinse it off your scalp. Honestly you shouldn't have to spend so much time to rinse off the cleanser but like I said, the formulas are a bit too rich. I still love how my hair looks and feels with Wen and my color doesn't fade.  It's the scalp buildup I could live without.
