They break below the quick everytime they grow out some. It's really painful because I can only trim the nail and hope the part that's left doesn't snag on something.

My nails have never been strong but this problem is really bothersome.

Can anyone suggest something that I can use to help?

Have you tried Nailtiques? I think it's formula 2 that I use. It is great. I use it all the time. I even use it under polish. I change it every 3-4 days. I apply 2 coats, let dry and it really hardens the nail and helps them grow. You can buy it at most drugstores, Target, etc. It's really a good product. hth.

....I use Sally Hansen (pink tint). Seems to keep them fairly strong. Also try Andrew Lessman supplement "Healthy hair, skin and Nails".

Biotin is great for my nails. Keeps them strong and they never break.

My nails don't break, but they peel and I use Tips from the Q. Tips makes my nails grow very fast so it might help you with the breakage.

Nailtiques 2 plus lots of moisturizer or oil on cuticles at night is the only thing that has worked for me. A year of biotin did nothing.

I take Hair, Skin and Nails 5000mg Biotin and tried Nailtiques. My nails were better, but still split, peeled, etc. I ended up going back to gels. I really love my nails now. Just gel over my natural nails, no long nails.

I've been using "Nutra Nail 5 to 7 Day Growth Formula" for decades; the Internet reviews support my rave, BTW. Just apply and then massage it in twice daily.

Actually, most of the products in their line are not only very reasonable, but very effective too.

I tried almost every product on my nails. Although many of them would help and my nails would grow they would still break and I could never achieve 10 good nails at once. I have great success with Perfect formula and have been using since it came to the Q. It's easy to use. I have an auto immune disease and it affects my nails but this has really been a life saver and gives me 10 presentable nails at the same time.
