Re: I need something to conceal this!

I agree with other posters, I wouldn't want to be putting some concealer over that while it's healing unless the derm said it was ok and if so what is safe to use.

Re: I need something to conceal this!

What does mila look like?  I mean I have rosacea...and I have the lovely rosacea bumps at times and I still get pimples like a teenager!  I have had laser done to help with my redness and was all black and blue....so I totally understand not wanting to go out in public...my face swelled up and I couldn't even get my contacts in (cheeks pushing up so much) and then my glasses were too tight...from my giant head!  Lot's of cold packs and splashing cold water on my face nothing would have helped me cosmetic wise LOL!  A bag like the unknown comic would be the only option.

If your skin is healed up enough then a foundation could be used....maybe that IT cosmetics CC one? Tlhey demo it here on Q all time...if you go to Ulta they have those travel size ones for about $12....you'd be ready for Monday or Tuesday perhaps.

Be careful you don't want to get any product "stuck" down in the healing holes you have described...it would be impossible to get out not to mention infection.

What about a powder foundation?  I can't use those and have no idea if it would help cover it somewhat.

Let's hope it's not to red looking come Monday.

@Katcat1

You could be right although I've always avoided heavy moisturizers because I have an oily t-zone. The one I've been using lately is CeraVe PM lotion, which is very light.

When I asked my derm what causes milia, he never mentioned products. He spoke of three potential causes:

1. Genetics

2. Sun exposure

3. Previously acneic skin

Yes, @SilleeMee I remember that thread. Good luck and I'm sure you'll be so happy to get rid of it! Do I recall correctly that you're using an eyelash growth serum? If so, even if you lose an eyelash or two, I'm sure they'll grow back in no time! 😊

Re: I need something to conceal this!

Thank you @tsavorite

As far as what milia looks like, it's basically a small bump under the skin and it doesn't have a head, like a pimple. When it's extracted, it can look like a tiny Pearl. If you can watch YouTube, there are tons of videos on this.

@Texasmouse, from what I've read from credible sources, your derm is correct. Here are some causes listed by Healthline.com:

In older children and adults, milia are typically associated with some type of damage to the skin, such as:

People who maintain that milia is caused by moisturizers are likely confusing milia with clogged pores. Milia are not clogged pores but keratin-filled cysts.

I personally would never try to remove any milia myself.

@suzyQ3

Thanks for posting that information.

What amazes me is that Dr. Pimple Popper on YouTube actually told one elderly lady (as she was extracting her milia) that she should stop wearing her pore-clogging makeup, saying that this was the cause of her milia! And she's a dermatologist!
