Re: I need help

[ Edited ]

As is usually the case, I learn something new here every day! I have been using microfiber cloths to remove make up for years.  This may seem like a silly question, but do you have any recommendations on what type of material should be used to remove make up with cleanser? @SilleeMee @Shanus

And yes, I have problems with dry patches, too.🤦‍♀️

I like to use a thin muslin cloth, folded in fourths, apply my cleanser to that and then take it to my face to cleanse. The muslin doesn't absorb all of your cleanser so it's not wasted plus the muslin itself provides very gentle exfoliation without stripping your skin of it's natural oils. The thin muslin material makes it easy to work the cleanser into all the nooks and crannies. Muslin cloths need to be replaced occasionally, depending on how much you use them. They tend to get too soft and lose their texture which helps cleanse the skin. Some people don't care for muslin b/c it is a very thin material but I like it very much...I can feel my face through muslin while cleansing and I like that part of it.

Thanks @SilleeMee !  I do actually have a few white muslin cloths that I use on the nights I exfoliate. I just cringe to think of them with mascara, etc. all over them if use them for regular cleansing 😬.

Everyone has their preferences but I use my hands now to wash my face with.  I used to use a cheap/rough WM wash cloth for the exfoliation.  Then thru more recent education, I learned that physical exfoliation isn't suggested anymore.  Chemical exfoliation is preferred.  I double (or triple cleanse if wearing makeup) and use my hands.

I take off my makeup with micellar water before washing my face with cleanser. even though I do that, the cloths eventually get some staining so I just toss them out when they get looking badly.

Thanks for that very basic suggestion that I completely overlooked😅!  That's just like me to look right past the obvious @monicakm .  I know the physical exfoliation is supposed to be bad, but my skin never feels as smooth as when I use skinn dermapeel. I always go back to that.

What brand of muslin cloths do you use? I'm always looking out for different ones to try.

I just searched my Amazon orders and it looks like Ginger Chi and Karllling were the two brands I have purchased @SilleeMee .
