I gave up the mineral foundation when I turned 50. Have you considered trying a BB cream? I use Lumene's BB cream in medium and my search for the perfect foundation is over.

I used BE for years, and still think it's a good foundation, however I think it was clogging my pores and emphasizing fine wrinkles.
Two recommendations: Tarte BB cream with Tarte powder foundation. I find this powder to be much finer and has good coverage.
If you'd like to try a liquid, my absolute favorite is Bourjois 123 Perfect. I used light/med in BE and use #52 in the Bourjois. It's not sold at retail in the US (made in France) but you can find it on line. It's a drugstore brand in Europe and very reasonably priced.
Another tip for anyone - Lisa Eldridge has a whole series of videos on foundation. They are very informative! lisaeldridge.com.

Thanks to everyone who took the time to help me with the liquid foundation questions. I also noticed that Philosophy has a liquid foundation and it comes in light-medium, which is on waitlist. I use Philosophy moisturizer, eye cream, Philosophy primer and it works for my sensitive skin. Has anyone tried this? Also, Smashbox has a liquid - any thoughts?

I used Jane Iredale mineral makeup for years. About 6 years ago I switched ( I'm 54) to CHANEL liquid foundation. You might want to go to a CHANEL counter and try some. They will color swatch you. I also use the CHANEL primer/ base. My skin looks near flawless.

I can't wear mineral makeup and have given up on liquid foundations. I have, however, found the love in CC creams. I am wearing Stila's brand and it is a winner. I have coverage, sun protection and a nice sheer glow to my face without the ick of dry powders and icky foundations that sit in the pores and wrinkles. When I run out of this one, I am going to try Revlon's new CC cream.

I use BE and I like it. I bought a larger, fluffier kabuki brush at Ulta (their brand) and it gives me a smoother finish. I do think it gets clumpy/cakey between my eyebrows as the day goes on. I don't like to use primers as it is an added step. My DD always says my BE looks great until later in the day
My DD and I bought the Trish McEvoy BB cream around Oct. I really like the finish; my DH and DD both complimented that my mu looked much better and neither knew what I was wearing that day. I really like the look, too. I think TM makes some real great products though limited. But, the real drawback for me on the TM BB cream is the chemical sunscreens.
Good luck with your search. HTH
ETA: Oh, I did try the Urban Decay Nak*d Skin foundation and got a real good match. It is a liquid. However, I must say that the Trish BB cream had a much better finish. Maybe it should for twice the cost

I used Bare Minerals for 12 years - was a loyal, die-hard fan. And then one day I looked in the mirror and said "This isn't working for me anymore". It was emphasizing my pores, settling into my lines, looking very powdery, and... dull. It was aging me.
I tried 2 different products based on QVC program demonstrations which intrigued me. Laura Gellar and Mally. Mally won HANDS DOWN.
I experienced the same issue with Laura Gellar as I did with Bare Minerals. Its just too powdery. I do think its nicer than Bare Minerals, but it was not solving my issue.
For Mally, I started with the "Mally 5-piece BB Brightening and Beyond Collection" which is still available but in limited shades. The BB Foundation which is included in that kit, applied with THAT brush, is a God-send. It is everything that the other brands are not. It IMMEDIATELY took 10 years off my skin. It was noticeably different and not only did my female friends and my sister comment about my skin looking better, but my husband (who normally notices NOTHING haha) told me my skin looked "dewy"
If that is not a testimonial, I don't know what is.
I love the product so much that I bought it for my 80 yr old mom who recently stopped wearing makeup because... well... she is 80. I told her to just pretend it is moisturizer and put it on with the brush instead of her fingers. Voila - she is now hooked too. She wore it all through the holidays and looked beautiful.
Since I bought that first kit, I have ventured into other Mally products such as the Perfect Prep Poreless Primer - it is HEAVENLY... I am seriously addicted to this product. Words cannot describe what this feels like on your skin. You have to trust the 5-star ratings and try it. I wear it under the BB foundation and as the day goes on I dab more on, on top of my makeup (it looks and feels THAT good).
So now my routine is 1) Cleanse with the Clarisonic 2) Mally PPP Primer 3) Mally Face Defender BB Cream Foundation 4) Eyes, cheeks, lips (now also all Mally) 5) More PPP Primer as needed throughout the day.
FYI... I am a "young" 53 yr old who now looks 39 instead of 49 ![]()

It's funny. The older I get the more I like BE. Any liquid foundation except Bobbi Brown's stick , makes me feel greasy. Especially when you are having to wear a sunscreen under the foundation. I use the BE primer and don't have a problem and I am 61. I wonder if by some chance you are not exfoliating enough or using retin A to smooth your skin. I use that and the Perricone C which is my favorite product of theirs and the texture of my skin is like glass. On top of that BE looks great.
