Re: I'm going to Ulta

[ Edited ]

@monicakm   Have fun, just look through the aisles of brands you enjoy and don't get side tracked like me. I also tell sales people that "I don't need help" so they stay away until I have a question...usually figure things out myself.

If you're at an Ulta that's further from your house, I wouldn't try anything "iffy" that may have to be returned like new skincare, etc.

Have fun. If you're like me, cosmetic stores and departments are like candy stores!!!

Plans changed a little.  Instead of me going while DH was having his injection, I waited till he was released.  So that meant he was in the car while I was in Ulta.  Didn't really have time to look around.  I know how to let SAs know I don't need help.  No one asked me if I needed help yesterday.  That's normally how it is in this store.  I found the Bare Minerals loose powder foundation that mom wanted, went to the front to pick up my blush and pay for mom's makeup and out the door.  Oh, I did stop at the Fenty display for the Summertime Lip and Cheek color changing product.  Swatched it.  Soooo pretty.

I'm a blogger!  Maybe vlogger will be next (g)

Thank you so very much for your ideas.
You are so very welcome.  I'm happy I'm able to offer ideas that you find helpful.  Here is a photo of the blush @SurferWife shared with us and that I picked up at Ulta yesterday.  The color is Bora  Bora.  Your Walmart might have it.  Mine didn't have this color.  I can't wait to wear it this afternoon.  Already have my outfit picked out (g)  But if I don't go to bed (stayed up all night and I'm way too old to still be doing this) all the pink blush in the world isn't going to make me look pretty&perky Smiley Surprised

Hit the send button too soon.  I'm glad you like the Nars foundation.  It's a "good-un" as my dad would say.  I'll be wearing it today.  And thank you for thinking of my husband.  He's tougher than boot leather!  If I'd had a needle stuck in the side of my neck, I'd be bed bound for the rest of the week!  He's at work the next day Smiley Surprised  But I guess the needle wasn't as bad as the pain he's been in.

You're not a nuisance!  Wow, perfume is such a personal/individual thing.  Really hard to recommend when you don't know the person.  All I can do is till you some of my favorites.  OK, I'm not a big clean and fresh perfume person, but, I do have one and ADORE it.  Most of my fragrances are vanilla and spicy even woody.  The one (that I can think of) fresh scent I have is Moroccanoil.  Sephora labels it floral but I wouldn't.  I guess because the florals are warm and it has amber and woody notes.  This doesn't last a long time on me but I like it so much, I'll repurchase it.  Another fav (like it better than the Moroccanoil) is Kayali Musk.  It's not the musk of the 60s and 70s.

Fragrance Family: Floral

Scent Type: Warm Floral

Key Notes: Amber, Magnolia, Woody Notes

What it is: A lightweight fragrance mist featuring a blend of spicy amber and sweet floral notes. Perfect for spritzing on hair and skin.

Moroccanoil - Hair & Body Fragrance Mist 3.4 oz/ 100 mL

Fragrance Family: Warm & Spicy

Scent Type: Warm & Sheer

Key Notes: Jasmine, Musks, Sandalwood

Fragrance Description: Emanating power and confidence, Musk | 12 begins with magnificent notes of lotus flower, freesia, and sheer jasmine. It shines a light on one of the world’s most mysterious ingredients with exquisite musk accords. A voluptuous blend of vanilla and creamy sandalwood gives the distinguished composition an enchanting and tempered soul.

About the Bottle: The perfect way to try or travel with KAYALI, this slim bottle fits in your bag for an on-the-go refresh.

About the Fragrance: "Bespoke beauty is something we’re very passionate about and KAYALI is all about discovering your own unique fragrance. A fragrance for every layer of you."—Mona Kattan
Kayali Musk | 12 50ml
Both of these have clean elements to me even tho they aren't labeled as such.  And neither has that floral scent that makes me sneeze.

@monicakm Fenty makes some very nice products.  I like the powder foundation and like the lipglosses a lot.

(sigh) I know they do.  Fenty used to be my favorite (Dior surpassed it).  I was appalled by Rihanna's Super Bowl performance and decided to stop supporting her company.  And for those that are, again, going to tell me there was nothing wrong with her performance and you liked it, that's fine that you liked it, just like it's fine that I didn't.

@monicakm I'm with you.  Not a fan, didn't like the show.  That said, while I do like her products, I have enough to keep enjoying and use up but will likely not repurchase.  I'm not getting political, just saying I agree.  I'm not "all in" on any one particular brand but am becoming more and more aware, so to speak.  For skincare, while I have more than I will ever need (!!!), I always gravitate back toward Clinique and pick up my faves when there's a 15% off somewhere.  My intention is to pare down and toss old things and things I know I don't like/won't use "but they were free!"  My hubby once told me I use more chemicals on my face than he does at his (auto repair) shop!!  When that resonates in my head, that leads me to the purge!!!  LOL!!
