Okay, so now I have looked up lob cuts myself. The pic I included in the post above is obviously not one of them.

Although some do look quite normal, I did find a few that might fit the OP's description that they looked sort of hacked off -- easy to pull off you're young and gorgeous, though:

I do not like the lob for myself. I think it appeals to the younger women and girls. Some of them look quite nice, but it's not my style.

So it's just a reverse bob...adorable. Not everyone can wear it at all lengths but I do like it. I think short to med length looks best.

Not a fan...frequently find myself ignoring whatever these people are saying because the hair is a distraction.  Just find myself thinking they would look so much better if only they'd run a comb or brush through their hair.  QVC has had their fair share of lob styles.  Seems to be a fave of one of those hair gadget stylists.

As for The Blacklist's Lizzie...I've never been a fan of her hair which often looks like it's been glued in place.

Nah, the wig was Season 1 only.   The actress Megan Boone had a very short cut and producers wanted Liz to have long hair.  Thus, the wig.  Megan's own hair grew, and early in Season 2 there was a scene where Liz cuts her hair.  So Megan was wearing her own hair from then on - end of the wig.  Google it.  The wig was "famous" on the Internet, lol.
