Have you thought about breaking up your Bob into a style like Lisa Rinna's? You keep most of the length, but change the direction of the style by cutting in the layers.

I did think about something similar to that.  I've always loved her hair.

@Nonametoday  I feel like you are almost shaming us for talking about our hair.  Surely that wasn't  your intention, but why bring that into the discussion?  Sorry, but I don't think the women here were being unkind about talking about hair issues.

Re: I'm So Sick of My Hair....

Maybe an inverted bob - the back hair is shorter than the front. Your hair does not look real short with this cut. The shorter the back though - the more stacked it is. Mine is not short enough for any stacking needed.

I love this cut, works well for my thin hair. Also - if you do not like it longer in the front - no biggie - the hair on the back of the head grows the fastest and it is all caught up in length in no time.

I had the same impression @Sooner.

Should we not talk about mascara or brow products on a beauty site because chemo patients may have lost theirs too?

It's silly to make the leap that a discussion about hairstyles is somehow insulting to cancer patients.

@Ms tyrion2, @Sooner, ITA with you both. That poster doesn't need to take me to task over that.  I lost my mom to cancer and my mom lost her hair to cancer.  Trust me I am not unsympathetic.  The comment was quite a stretch.

I lost my mom to cancer too @Lipstickdiva.

She would never have taken offense to a post about hairstyles--even when she had no hair.

Re: I'm So Sick of My Hair....

Good luck with your hair appointment tonight @Lipstickdiva.  It is stressful, isn't it?

I think I was damaging my hair from too much round brushing to create a bend in my very straight hair.  I recently spent a weekend at a friend's and asked for the Swiffer.  She said I didn't have to do the bathroom floor, but I insisted because there was enough shedding to create a My Little Pony.

My hair has gone from heavily highlighted to chestnut brown to recently having a lot cut off with caramel highlights a la Dominique Sachse. I am no longer round brushing.  Instead I use a blow dryer on low and "finger style".  I do have to use a flat iron and paste, so we shall see if it remains healthy.maxresdefault.jpg

I hope you come back tomorrow and tell us you love the "new" you!

Re: I'm So Sick of My Hair....

@magicmoodz, I really like Dominique. She is the only person I follow on You Tube.  Her hair is fabulous.  Unfortunately, I probably have about half as much hair as she does.  LOL  I also love the color of her hair.

My hair got way, way over blonde.  Between highlighting and then being outside all the time, it was just too much.  Twice now I've tried to have my hair darkened and it lasts about a week and washes out.  I don't know if the color the salon uses isn't good or it's just not holding because of the blonde or she's not going dark enough.

I finally got annoyed and bought a semi-permanent color in light brown and put it on myself.  If it washes out after only a few washes, it was $6.00 instead of $130.00 down the drain.

I need to figure out my next color move.  LOL

Oh how I know summers can wreak havoc on our hair.  We have to cram as much sun and fun into a few months and, well, there goes the hair!  Is your stylist using permanent or semi-permanent color?  I find semi's just don't last long, but then I wash often (frequently daily). Also, highlights tend to give my hair some added oomph!

Isn't Dominique a doll?  She is the only YouTuber I follow too!

Re: I'm So Sick of My Hair....

If you don't want to go shorter, let the bob grow out a little more.  When the back is long enough, cut the angled sides off.

Now you have different hairstyle.

Can be all one length, distinct layers or subtle ones, parted on either side or in the middle.

You can use a little clip if you want to lose the bangs or the front so it doesn't fall in your face.

Wear it in a pony, a bigger clip as a messy-do or wear it down.

For volume of fine hair, blow dry upside down.  No brush needed once you comb it out after shampooing.

For added volume-use products for such.  Dry shampoo before your hair needs it.  Adds volume.

I'm not good with styling brushes, won't use irons and only use rollers for dress up occassions.

But my hair still looks well done--and easily--for every day.

And it doesn't look like the same haircut/hairstyle from high school.
