I know everyone is different but...

I am running real low on my skincare (other than my oils...love).  I am in my late 60's of course I have lines, wrinkles and sagging.  I also know that nothing is going to remove the lines or the wrinkles or put the skin that was once on my face and now on my chest back ha!  Question is if you were starting over what skincare line or lines... (as I know we are all are not faithful to just one line).... would you go for?  All of this stuff is so confusing my head is spinning.  I just want to look as good as I can.  Thanks so much!

Paulas Choice and Cerave. Best brands I've found for the price.  I've tried very expensive skincare that has done absolutely nothing but these two have delivered. Also, the one thing if I could go truly back, wearing SPF everyday, especially when I was in my teens and 20s.

Re: I know everyone is different but...

Everyone has her own version of what works for her.

I think if you wash your face very good morning and night.  Then put on a good moisturizer.  Stay out of the sun as much as you can and year around wear sunscreen.

I've told before what works for me.  I don't think you need to do it but it's habit and it works for me.

I use Dr. Denese firming facial pads (after I wash my face with a microfiber clothe at night).  Then I put on Hydroshield.  I think any moisturizer would work.

I do that at night.  In the morning I wash my face (no soap) with a microfiber cloth and put on Hydroshield.  Then if I'm leaving the house I put on sun screen.

Two times a week I use Philosophy sea salt scrub to make sure I get all of the old dead skin off of my face.  After I've done this my face feels like silk.

I don't have wrinkles.  I don't have pretty skin.  I used to have large pores but since I started using the facial pads, they aren't as large.  I know someone who has amazing skin.  I used to tease her and say, "Yes, your skin is beautiful.  But if you get one zit it shows.  When I get one zit, so what".  Ha!

My advice is to get the old skin off of your face each day.  Google how much skin you shed every day.

Re: I know everyone is different but...

@bunjetto I have had the best luck with "Algenist" A274046

I have used "Jane Iredale's" make-up for years and is one of my favorite lines.

She is now making a skin care line that I'm trying. Not long enough to know.

But if it is anything like her make-up, it should be good.

I didn't know if you wanted brands like these or drug store brands.

There are a lot of good ones like Neutrogena.

I use Purity for my cleanser and I wouldn't use anything else.

Re: I know everyone is different but...

Thank you.  I too use Purity as my main cleanser (have a few trying to get rid of).  I should have mentioned I have tried quite a few lines in my time.  I just don't see amazing results like I read about on here from others.  I cleanse, exfoliate and moisturize.  I have retin A but it makes me peel to much.  Love masks , peels etc which I dabble in.  So much hype on all these lines still haven't found the one or maybe I am expecting too much.  I have tried drug store lines but didn't care for the ones I have tried.  HELP lol

Re: I know everyone is different but...

RetinA will give you the biggest improvement by far. Either use it fewer nights per week or ask your derm for a lower strength. I always start my "break" with a heavy duty moisturizer. Helps to control the flaking.

I'm so over the "run, go get it now" posts. I did, only to wind up going "meh".

If you're tempted to indulge in a line, try ebay for a trial or travel size. Can't tell ya how much $$$ that has saved me!

Re: I know everyone is different but...

@bunjetto - I'm 61 with normal/ dry. I have found a routine that truly works for my mature skin. PM - I remove MU with JM Cleansing Oil. I exfoliate frequently and I have JM Cleansing Powder, SKINN Dermappeal and Consult Beaute Skin Polish. all three of these exfoliaters are good but If I had to pick one it would be CB or the SKINN. I also use CB Caviar cleanser in the shower after cleansing oil & exfoliante. Then I use Consult Beaute Retinol Pads, Serum and Cream. I let these settle into skin and then later apply Josie Maran Argan Oil to face & neck. I also have Elemis Neck and Night Collagen cream which I apply to neck before JM because my neck is my "trouble" area.
AM -I cleanse with JM Cleansing cloths. I apply JM Hydrating Spray, Intensive Milk Serum, JM eye serum.
I mix a couple of drops of JM Self-Tanner with JM Perfect & Protect for my sunscreen/foundation. Most of my MU is JM - blush, hilighter, JM Light Argon Oil. anyway this routine has worked beautifully for me. my skin looks better than it has in years.
I love the mixture of CB Retinol products and Josie Maran.
also, the Elemis neck cream has made a big difference in my neck mixed with JM Argon Oil. HTH

I use Strivectin because it builds collagen.  It is skin care, so all I add is Neutrogena Dry Touch sunscreen.

I like these produces and put my makeup on right after because I'm not greasy.  I don't "do" goop!
