Since the Covid started I have not ordered any clothing or make-up. I am a true make-up junky and clothes horse! My husband and I used to go to the casino at least twice a week and ate out a lot. I always dressed up and wore make-up to these places. In July we have gone online a few times and ordered food from restaurants and did the curbside pick up. I don't feel safe going inside to a restaurant. My daughter is a nurse and kept telling us that because of our age if we got the virus we wouldn't get a ventilator to help save our lives. It's now August and she keeps reminding us that the virus is out there and will be for a long time. My grandson's friends went up to northern Michigan but he decided to stay home. They went to a restaurant and the beach. They came home and after a week or so they all ended up with Covid. All their families were exposed. Everyone who was exposed to their family members were also exposed. So many people had to quarantine themselves. I'm sure everyone has good days and bad days feeling cooped up. But just remember that what you do and where you go could affect many people around you.

That's a good report about saving money! And a reminder for us all not to venture out too far too soon. I'm starting to spend $$ again and need to slide back into being more conservative. I love tossing $$ into savings.

I refuse to live in fear, but I am fearful of the virus, I have a compromised immune system and that does dictate some of my behavior. I wear a mask outside
Right now we only go to outside , my husband does the food shopping, i do all of my clothes shopping on line

I haven't bought any clothes since all this began. I have no place to wear them! And sadly, that's likely to be true for a long time.

We have saved a lot of money too. Since I stay home and it has been so hot this summer, I basically alternate between three pairs of shorts and one skort with a few different tops that I have. I haven’t bought any clothing since May. We have done a bit of carryout food but I haven’t been insude a restaurant since the shutdown. All our vacations were cancelled so we saved money there too. My sister and her husband got Covid-19 about three weeks ago and after hearing what they went through for two weeks, I certainly don’t want to! I’m just happy they were able to recuperate from it.

I have not bought any new clothes either. I go to work 3 days a week, but most in my office work form home now and we have very few visitors in office as compared to before. I find myself wearing older clothes now, no longer dressing to impress not even to impress myself , and for me the mask also deters me from dressing nicer too.

I've been out almost everyday since mid March & so have many of my fellow volunteers, age 83 to 20...none of us have Covid, none of the workers we see in groceries - pharmacies have Covid...we simply follow the recommended guidelines & keep up to date on what's happening with the virus in our County. There's plenty of info on who's at risk & if you fall into that group what you can do to protect yourself. I'm a healthy 68, I've gotten on with my life & I'm the better for it....I know a few healthy able bodied friends in their 50's who haven't been out of their homes in 5 months, they're so ruled by fear they can't even take 1 step outside. I've never spent much money on makeup, clothes, eating out, I live pretty frugally BUT since volunteering to deliver groceries & prescriptions for free to the home bound I've spent lots of $ on gas & sanitizers, I don't even want to know how much but whatever it is I know it's worth it.

Groceries/food cost so much more during this virus that the $ I save not buying clothes, etc. is spent on that. Not much gain.

I have put gas in my car once since March 15. I did that in June and didn't really need it then. I still have 3/4 tank of gas. I g out once a week for curbside grocery pickup and that is IT. I didn't spend much on clothes anyway as my job requires a uniform. We retire late this fall and I am not anticipating going back to the office at all so I am good.

The only thing I saved money on is eating out. But - I did some take-out. Lots of good neighborhood places were open for take-out.
My grocery bills have been high - cooking at home. One good side-effect is that I'm eathing healthier and lost some weight.
I've been taking advantage of all the summer sales - I'll wear the stuff next summer (clothes and shoes).
I bought a lot of books and Kindle downloads.
My yarn spending has been astronomical! BUT - I have a nice collection of new knitwear for the Fall and Winter.
I've been reorganizing my apartment - buying lots of odds and ends.
