Re: I got that dreaded QVC letter people have talked about.

I was thinking that it sounds counter-intuitive to what they say, repeatedly, every time they try to get you to purchase something and that is that everything can be returned if you are unhappy with it! 'no risk' get it?! Out of curiosity how many items does it take to get the nasty letter?

{#emotions_dlg.sad}KClady, you are unfortunately going to get a lot of nasty replies in this thread, so prepare yourself. I am sorry you got the letter, it has happened to me, several years ago (I'm trying to remember, I think it was 3 or 4 years ago). I didn't think I had returned that many things, when I got the letter. I consider myself a good customer. Oh well, I do try to make sure that things I order I am going to keep. I only return things that I know I can't use or wear, (or have some defect) etc. I rarely, rarely purchase beauty items, and if I do I usually keep them. I am not on auto delivery for anything, anymore.

I can understand your disappointment and how you feel.....but many people will come on here and chastise you and tell you that you should be more careful ordering, etc.

It's unfortunate that they find the need to send those letters out. But, it's their business and they can run it the way they want to. They must be flush with customers, to be so willing to offend people and/or cancel their accounts. I guess if they have so many customers they can afford to do that, then it really doesn't matter what we think.

I noticed.

I am not as "mad" as I sounded in my post.

I consider myself a good QVC customer. I only return something if it looks like cheap cr*p when I get it or if an item was misrepresented in some way. I am not "one of those" people that use up a product then return it. Most of my returns are items I never even opened such as an auto delivery I forgot to cancel or If I thought I canceled something before it shipped but turns out I did not cancel so back it goes completely unopened and unused. I rarely return beauty related items. Over christmas I had some beauty gifts that the receiver did not like that needed to be returned. The letter stated I return 31% of my purchases which means I keep 69%. I would understand the letter if I returned beauty products that were opened and used up but most of my returns are not beauty items.

Only 31%? Thought it would be like 50% returns to get that notice.

Re: I got that dreaded QVC letter people have talked about.

kcladyz-thanks for your candor. Yep, outrageous as a retailer to have as your motto-buy it, try it, return in 30 days for any reason, and not stand by it. This letter sounds like a vague policy and they are required to provide full disclosure. I have had to return many items due to sizing issues. 5 IM pants-all 1 order; 4 linea dresses-all 1 order. Defective GILI shoes. Peter roth eye serum that did not work as claimed. It's the nature of their business model and they use it as a selling point. It's beyond ridiculous! We all go through some trial and error. If there is some line that we shouldn't cross, then they need to disclose it each and every time they use the policy to hook another order!

Wow -- me, too. I'm surprised I haven't gotten one if 30% seems to be the tipping point. That's only 3 out of 10 products!! I'm gobsmacked..

I have a feeling the letter is generated automatically when you hit that magic percentile. I assume it's intended for those who continuously use things to the bottom of a bottle and send it back, which I can understand. your situation clearly does not merit the letter!

Since Q has this mystery policy, we can't be sure how it is handled nor what triggers it. What the heck is it? Why the secrecy/non disclosure?

Re: I got that dreaded QVC letter people have talked about.

Perhaps the Q should give people a warning if returns are an issue and let individuals know that if they have 1 or 2 more (something on that order) that they are banned from returning or whatever they say. It really is a sensitive matter because I ordered a few rings not long ago but was very disappointed when the rings arrived to see them in person. I returned all three which was unusual for me but I was not happy with them. Clothes especially could be a problem as they run so differently.
