I Trashed My Complexion With This...

Carpe Sweat Absorbing Face Lotion Plus Oily Face Control, 1.35 fl oz - Walmart.com

Buyer beware.

I used it 3x.  The first time I used it as a primer with my normal skincare under it.  That consists of a lot of hydrating products and a gel cream moisturizer.  DID NOT WORK with the particular foundation I wore that day (Rose Inc Serum Foundation).  It was a mess!  I had read that it works "great" as a primer.  Face looked and felt dehydrated. The next time I used it, again, on top of my skincare and before my TnT Hourglass primer.  Used Nars foundation instead but the same layering order.  Face was tight and makeup looked bad.  One more try but this time used it first...Carpe/skincare/primer/makeup.  That's when it all went south Smiley Sad

Makeup looked horrible yesterday.  I didn't have time to redo it.  Face felt dry and irritated and just got worse as the day wore on.  Couldn't get it off fast enough when I got home.  Just used Huda's makeup removing balm and Naturium's face cleanser (lightly).  No Tatcha Rice Polish.  Then pulled out my trusty Aveeno oat serum and oat moisturizer for almost instant relief.  At bedtime I gently removed that and used Naturium's Marshmallow Root Barrier Balm ( Use as the last step in skincare routine, whenever skin needs extra comfort).  Sooo glad I had these products on standby.  I'm probably 75% better.  Going to use them again tonight and that should,  hopefully, do it.

Product did work tho (partly).  It was 107 yesterday.  Under extreme (for me) conditions/activities my face did sweat but other times when my face would be sweating, it didn't.  Company is giving me a refund and said to keep it.  I'll be throwing it in the trash!  I had such high hopes.

That's too bad the product didn't work for you. I'm wondering why you tried something like this when you already have sweating drops. If the drops work, I would think that's enough.

Can you try using it on just the parts of your face that sweat?

I'd try a swipe on my upper lip, sparingly on my forehead and just above my brows.

I'd also try it on the back of my neck underneath my hair....

I ordered both at the same time.  The sweating drops got here first.  They didn't work as well as the ones I've used in the past but those were on backorder with the company.  Just out of desperation, I checked Amazon and they some (but not the same brand I've used in the past).  Going to order my old ones today.

Re: I Trashed My Complexion With This...

I did the same thing to my face with different products.  I was using Hygieia dark spot remover once a day (directions said x2 per day).  Had to mow so I left it off for that day and used PCA skin broad spectrum spf 50+ (from Derm store sample kit of SPF's)

When I started sweating outside my skin burned all along my hairline, and edges of my chin.

Saw my dermatologist today and she said the Hygieia will not fade dark spots (although it will peel dead skin) and she gave me samples of Eltamd for sensitive skin and one that was waterproof.

I ended up purchasing an Aveeno daily moisturizing cream with soothing oats to help w/the burning and she said she really liked the Aveeno products.

I suppose I am lol

Last night DH cooked ribeyes on the grill.  While we were eating he said he wished he'd cooked his a minute longer.  I told him to just go lay it on the driveway for a minute Smiley Surprised  This heatwave is intense!  A slight break today but the humidity is back so it still feels as hot and with added humidity.  It's 75, shady and breezy where I am tho (in the house) Smiley Happy

Ouch Smiley Sad  Hope your face is well on it's way to healing.  Aveeno oat serum and moisturizer are staples for emergencies just like these.

Unfortunately this didn't work out for you.  I have read where you use some sort of sweating drops.  Perhaps sticking with what works is best.

Additionally, this particular product didn't work for you, but it might work for someone else.  Have you ever been to a physician to find out why you sweat around your face so profusely?  I know we are all different when it comes to this.  Years ago, I had a male friend who would sweat in the dead of winter, while I shivered my bum off.
