A couple months ago I did a huge favor for a "sort of" friend and gave her daughter a manicure. The daughter had been ill and was recovering. Because she always complimented me on my nails, which I do myself, I said I would. A couple weeks later I started getting calls from this girl's friends asking me for a manicure and how much I charge. I explained that I was not a professional and they didn't care, so I agreed. I've made about $140 !!!!
I even did some nail art on a couple of them. I don't do it on my own nails, but have done it for my daughter when she was younger. It really is fun making them happy. I'm having a good time (and making money).

Wow - how cool is that?? As long as everyone knows you're not a professional, I don't see any problem with it. Until you're found you're not paying taxes....that could be a problem... but enjoy it while you can!!

How do you sterilize everything between manicures?

I've always loved hair and nail beauty. When I was a teen I would set and curl hair for the women in the neighborhood. As a matter of fact, that's the only time my mother could stand me around her for very long ... she would love me to brush her hair.
Well I am having a fun time with these girls. They are so happy with their nails. I even purchased a book on nail art and let them look at it to see if there is something they would like. They are all sweet girls.

This is pretty much what I was thinking. sparklestar, It's great you've found something you enjoy and others appreciate. But it would probably be a good idea to check into the local regulations regarding manicures. The problem of serious infections and tissue damage has been prominent in the news of late, and it would be a terrible shame for you to encounter problems. The regulatory agencies don't care if someone has good intentions, unfortunately.
