PEARLEY...Are you suggesting I try the Mally gel lip colors?

@Quinny  Well, that's up to you.  I was saying that QVC did introduce something new in lipsticks - that new gel Mally choice.  She says in the video she's never done that before. So it is something new and the price isn't bad for three of them.  I can't suggest you try them because I haven't so I can't recommend or not recommend them.

Re: I Need Something New in Lipsticks...

I must say, I'm loving all these suggestions and can't wait for my weekly trek to Ulta tomorrow. I have lots of tubes of lipgloss but I'm really looking forward to shopping for lipsticks. I realize I don't have any actual lipsticks. I typically a prestige brand shopper, but I'm going to shop revlon, Maybelline, loreal, and Ulta brand. You guys all rock. You're my favorite brainstormers!

I have finally found my perfect lipstick, love the color, feel, lasts and isn't at all drying.

I got a TS from HSN in Two Faced and this lipstick was in that. The color is Sugar Daddy and it is a very soft sort of peachy pink.

I love the sound of that lipstick, doglover!  I'm heading right over to HSN to check it out!  Thanks  :-)

I purchased that TS, too, and returned it last week.  The only item I really loved out of the kit was the taupe eyebrow gel.  The mascara definitely did not live up to it's name, lol, and I disliked the hourglass-shaped brush.  The blush color was lovely but too many sparkles for everyday wear.  I really wanted to love the lipstick but the Sugar Daddy color is a shade or two too light for me and I look like a zombie in it.  Ah, well, NEXT...

I was at Walgreens yesterday, looking at the Wet n Wild MegaLast lipstick that's on sale and the sales clerk recommended Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate Moss lipstick, too.

I can relate to the  mascara, hated this and gave it away. I don't like the brush that came with the blush but I have a two faced bronzer I use and use the brush that came with that for this blush. I too like the brow mousse, much nicer than the Tarte mousse.

Sugar Daddy works great for me BUT if you want a great drug store lipstick, please take a look at

Cover Girl Outlast long wear and moisture. It does moisturize and is long wearing and never feels dry. I got 905 and love it by you may prefer a little deeper shade if sugar daddy doesn't work for you. This comes in a silver tube with a see through top so you can see the color.

While I love what I have a friend told me to try NYX butter lipsticks but so far just never got around to even looking at them.

I'll take a look at the Cover Girl Outlast lipstick, thanks for the rec!  Another lipstick I was pleasantly surprised with is Almay Smart Shade Butter Kiss.  They have four colors grouped together according to your skintone in the store display - Light, Light Medium, and Medium.  I purchased all four of the Light Medium shades and was delighted that they all look good on me, lol, because that rarely happens.  They are a sheer moisturizing lipstick that looks natural, not long wearing, but they feel nice on the lips and aren't sticky or drying.  And, they don't seem to creep into vertical lip lines, always a hazard with buttery lipsticks or lip glosses.

thanks, wrote this down and will check them out. I love and need a moisturizing lipstick so is why I liked both the sugar daddy in   Two Faced and the CG in the silver tube that shows the color at the top. I will check out these Almay ones now this week, thanks

the sugar daddy may be a new shade and is the in the kit I got from HSN, Two Faced but it is a great lipstick, long wearing, moisturizing and feels very nice on all the time. I haven't tried any other lipstick from Two Faced, is my first but do use their bronzer, chocolate one since it isn't so dark or muddy looking on my light complexion.

Re: I Need Something New in Lipsticks...

Pearley- you are most welcome. I love Lipstick Queen also and am lucky enough to have met Poppy King  a few years ago when she was introducing the LQ line. I have quite a few from her line but as I am spending more of my hard-earned money on other things (ie: high school and college tuitions), I have less to spend on beauty and have learned to love some drugstore items as well. I have a 45 minute lunch on workdays and don't like to stay in the building, so I spend a lot of time at the nearby CVS. Between Extra bucks, CVS coupons and manufacturer coupons I have gotten some amazing deals. This week I spent less than $5 on 2 new Revlon lip products (the matte ones in the flat oval shaped tubes), and got $4 in Extra Bucks back. It's like a casino, only cheaper. I'd love to know the Ulta lip crayon shade you purchased- I have a few of those I like, but they keep changing the tube style as well as the colors...Another great Ulta item is Essence lipstick for $2.99. I love the shade 'On The Catwalk'. And I NEVER leave an Ulta without checking the Clearance- lots of great goodies hiding in there...

[ Edited ]

@BostonMom 59  I love CVS!  I know what you mean about all the discounts/Extra Bucks/ bargains, etc.  Whenever I get  tons of stuff and after they take off their coupons, the manufacturer coupons, and Extra Bucks and my total comes to under $10 or something ridiculous like that, I wonder how CVS can do it.  And peope who don't sign up for their card are really being financially stupid!  By the way, my CVS told me that after Jan. 1st (now) they will only honor expired extra bucks for 5 days after the expiration date.  Previously ours never enforced the exp. dates and just overrode them, their philosophy being "you earned them, they are yours to spend when you want to."  But no more.

They told me it's because CVS is losing money from not selling cigarettes any more so they have found ways to make it up, this being one of them.  Sigh. And I never smoked yet I'm not getting penalized!  And they have my email addy - they should have notified us, people who don't know are going to be mad!   But I digress....

The lip crayon shade I got for 47 cents is called  Ulta Matte Lip Crayon and the color is Raspberry Rose .  There was one other color which was much pinker than the darker color I got, although mine isn't real dark either (I haven't yet tried it).   They had a lot of the other color in the clearance bin but only two left of the one I bought.  As I say, it had been $8.00 per other label on it before the sale label was stuck on.

So cool that you met Poppy from LQ!  I think she has a great product - too bad it's so pricey.  I always liked her on QVC; I wonder if she ever still comes on?

Re: I Need Something New in Lipsticks...

Regarding Too Faced Drenched Lip Cream lipsticks: I went sort of wild some time ago and bought many of these. I am sorry now. I should have paid more attention to the common thread throughout the negative reviews on Sephora.

IMO and personal experience, they have virtually no lasting power, they are not moisturizing, they apply in a patchy way and emphasize lines, and their twisting mechanism has a tendency to break. Two of mine did so, and I read the same on Sephora.

On top of that, I think I am not a big fam of the shape of the lipstick. I find it much easier to apply the type that has a point rather than just a big round top.

Re: I Need Something New in Lipsticks...

@BostonMom 59  I just saw my post you quoted and the color I wrote is missing form my post!  I put it in Italics when I posted - I wonder why it's now missing from my post?  Anyway - sorry - I did answer your question.  The color  of my 47 cent lip crayon is raspberry rose.
