It's best that it doesn't have a bevy of other products in it. When I first started Naturium 2.5% it got rid of the under the skin bumps right under my cheekbones. They're back. Dr Idreese says 3% minimum

I use real .05% RetinA/Tretinoin most nights. If I were to ever stop, I would go with Mad Hippie Vitamin A Serum. It contains Hydroxypinacolone Retinoate, which is actually 2x more bioavailable than retinol and doesn't require the metabolic changes required for retinol to be received by the skin, changes that actually weaken the retinol before it can even start doing its job.

How did you get so smart?
So it's not 3% but works better?
@monicakm Thanks, but I'm not. I just read stuff, like any of us can, and understand it at a very basic level. Honestly, with the Max Hippie Vitamin A, I don't know the concentration but since it's a different active ingredient and works differently, the same percentage likely wouldn't apply.

I'm going right now to Amazon and purchase some Mad Hippie. Thanks!

Good luck with it, @monicakm I hope you like it, but keep in mind these Vitamin A family products take time to work, a few months to start seeing results as long as you stick with it. Only use the Vitamin A serum at night as it could cause sun sensitivity. Also, do not combine with AHA's. You can also read more about it on the MH site.
I just found this there,BTW, on the MH site. Your initial understanding was correct.
What is the percentage of vitamin A in this serum?
We use approximately 1%-2% HPR in our Vitamin A Serum to deliver an effective product that does not cause irritation for most.

Mad Hippie A didnt cut it for me. Dr Dubrow's Regenerol on SHQ is 3% Retinol, in the concentrate. You can also find 3% brands on ebay.

@monicakm , Mad Hippie didn't seem like it was doing anything. I also liked Dr.Dubrows Regenerol line. The serum has 3 percent retinol, and never caused peeling or irritation. The night cream is also very nice. I always purchased an entire set of Regenerol with the serum, cream and pads on sale. I'm using other products right now, but I'd probably try Dubrow again. He had the best facial scrub, but it hasn't been available any longer...☹️
