To not change skin care products.  Clinique has worked for me for decades and even if I try some of their products I break out, ugh!

What line works for you?  Is it sold here on Q?

@Jackhound Mom   No surprise here...I've stayed w/ Skinceuticals for over 6-7 yrs. I use everything from Vit. C to moisturizers, eye balm and just discovered their Equalizing Toner w/ Fruit Acid. Retin A's been in the line up for over 35 yrs. and Obagi for dark spots when needed (maybe 20 yrs.). Bobbi Brown Soothing Oil Cleanser forever...haven't found another that removes all makeup (eyes, too) w/o burning and leaves skin plump and not tight. All purchased not on Q.

I don't look for other skincare products, so am never tempted to try them. I try to convince others if what you use is working, stay with it. New and better isn't always what it's advertised to be.

Trish McEvoy vitamin C cream does more for my skin that any other product I've tried.  I keep it and use it two or three times a week at night.

I don’t change skin care products very often. If something is working then I don’t feel the need to change.

I have tried new products over the years as formulas & ingredients have changed. I also have adjusted my product routine based on my skin care concerns at the time.

I have also tried a few products suggested here on the beauty forum. Unfortunately, one size does not fit all.  What works for one person may not work for others. IMO it’s a lot of trial and error.

My current skin care includes Olay cleanser & SPF moisturizer, Neutrogena alcohol free toner, Paula’s Choice BHA, and aloe Vera gel. Btw I am in my late 50s with oily acne prone skin and a few eye wrinkles.

Re: I Must Learn...

[ Edited ]

I’ve found products from different lines that work for me. Timeless for serums, Paula’s Choice for cleanser and exfoliation, Olay for spf, prescription retinoid and Cerave moisturizer. It sounds kind of complicated in writing, but I’ve used the same products for years and have no desire to try new things.

Perricone Vit. C serum and Neuropeptide creams

Lancome Genifiques serum

Lancome Eye Cream-presently loving new Renergie Multi-Action-does what it says, esp. for genetic blue grey undereye circles-lightens them up for sure! Not cheap.

I agree with you re tried and true. The changes I've made have been in response to changes in my skin due

to aging. Started using under eye cream at 29-- almost

68 and still using eye cream. Still use abolene to remove makeup.

A lot of the products I once used are no longer in existence, or changed.

I keep my basic categories the same: mild cleanser, antioxidant serum, peptide serum, high quality moisturizer, and SPF in the day and vitamin A derivative at night. But I don't care what brand anything is. As long as I trust the brand's quality and think they're worth supporting, and I can find a way to afford the product, I consider swapping in newer better items.

But I know what types of ingredients my skin prefers. I think it's a good idea to learn that on an individual basis.
